I solved this complaint by getting these adaptors:

FYI, ONLY the STEEL BLUE is for sale. I would shorten the title and add it in a more visible place.

A few thoughts...

- I use these when walking my dogs (because I need to hear traffic and so on) and they are amazing.
- I find them so comfortable that I forget to take them off.
- Shokz sent me TWO replacements because my OpenRun headphones kept disconnecting in very cold weather. Amazing company.
- I upgraded to the OpenRun Pro this week and yes, there's a marked improvement.
- I assume they can't use USB-C and still have water resistance. The adapter they use doesn't retain water.

All in all highly recommended.

I've got a $25 set of generic bone conductors from Amazon that I've been using for the last year when I go biking. Certainly the worst sound quality of any headphones that I own, but they serve their purpose of giving me the ability to have some tunes with a good beat playing along while I'm pumping the pedals.

$100 is the lowest I've ever see the "real" Shokz go for - so it's tempting to try them. Curious if these are enough of an upgrade over my generic set to make the leap.

honestly , at this point I don't think it's a small complaint. usb C should be standard.
I totally agree. I've had the OpenMoves for over 2 years now. Tons of miles on the bike and running with them. They're usb-c and I won't upgrade just for that reason. I finally got rid of my Lightning cables. I don't want anymore! 😂

Easy returns at Best Buy, so definitely worth giving them a try.

Shokz are infinitely more comfortable than the generics that I have tried. The generics I have top out at about an hour of wear time before they get ear fatiguing or just uncomfortable, but no issue with 4+ hours when I upgraded.

Consider the OpenFit. I nearly forget that I have them on.

Not true. Verizon offers had open run pro ( but mini size) for 50% off which is valid till April 30th. I bought mine last week for $90 open run pro (mini). They are good. Fit well on my head but run short on my neck. I will definitely try this regular size for $100. Would have preferred the black ones but don't want to pay $139 for them.

If you know anyone with Verizon account you can have them send you the discount code for 50% on mini for $90.

If you have $25 and $189 IEMs to compare, that may give you a potential range as to what to expect from an upgrade to Shokz.

I believe this has to do with sealing from constant sweat, condensation, etc. to ensure longevity. Otherwise, you have a rubber stopper over the charger port, which isn't exactly sealed.

You can go back to Best Buy and ask for a price adjustment
I did that soon after posting. I'm also buying a second pair at this price.

You just solved the final piece to my travel bag cable issues. I love you random person.
Only to glad to help. Someone mentioned these to me about six months ago, I bought them and they make keeping the charging connection more secure. That's one of the great things about this site - the useful tips from others.

Anyone know how comfortable these are while lying down on the bed? I sometimes go to sleep listening to something. Right now I use AirPods Pro but they hurt a bit if i am lying on my side.
I do this all the time (developed a [bad] habit of being the way I ca. fall asleep). I would highly recommend the AirPods 2gen (the classic look) way more comfortable when laying down on the pillow.

Hmm 9th gen technology vs my open move 7th gen very tempted, I think I am going to bite, my only grip about my Open Move was that even on max volume they were not that loud, so hoping this will change that.

They have an over the ear design now too, like airpods. Where there is no band going behind your head.

Shokz are over the ear touching the jawbone whereas AirPods are in ear ….completely different
