I guess you have to spend closer to $300 to get decent performance. The screen touch response didn't feel very good, and it's overall kinda of sluggish. Maybe just a bit better than the Fire tablets, but just too close to make them worth while.

Display is good, perhaps great. BUT IT DOES NOT LAST 20 HOURS... maybe 11 - 12 hours.
I also think you do not understand how things work. When you access the SD card your read and write speeds could be 10 times slower then the tablet's internal hard drive. Point is... it is always better to use internal storage if you can.
Also, people today don't have the time to worry about uploading movies to a SD card... they just stream.
BOTTOM LINE... there are better options that cost almost half the price, IMHO.
IMHO, there are three tablets to consider based on SPECS and price.
1. Lincplus T3 .... 10.36"
2. Iplay 50 Mini Pro NFE .... 8.4"
3. Pad Pro 2022 8+128G Snapdragon 870 11.2" WiFi 2560*1536 OLED Screen Face Recognition 8200 MAh. WHEN ON SALE AND PURCHSED USING ALIEXPRESS.
1 & 2. Buy at Amazon
3. Only when on sale, you need to buy from China. It use to sell for $195ish... but since they all got sold out about 2 months ago, I have not seen it come back at this price. (maybe on JD.com).
Both tablets are almost identical but the iplay has sim and sd card slot while the Lincplus T3 only has SD card slot. Both have 8GB / 128GB / G99.
G99 is almost equal to a SD695.
Does Apple allow Kodi?
Does Apple allow you to access thepiratebay?
Does Apple allow you to access all websites?
Does Apple have free Youtube premium that can be installed?

It's possible that they both struggle with a specific, heavier workload that you want to perform on both, making them both unusable for you, leading you to claim that they are on par. However, it's still unfair to say their performances are the same.

people still download movies for offline watch ... like a long flight.

you literally just stated ways of piracy I thought to be impossible.
What kind of person pirates "free YT premium".
dont you have nay morals? sometimes piracy is OK, but pirating 100% of everything is wrong for sure.
You know that there's people who make a living behind the faceless companies?

And I never even mentioned IRC which is where you can find most software for free.
But if it makes you feel better, most games find blocks for pirated online play. I will also add, there is also a ton of pirated stuff that is available for the MAC.
And if you think the FBI actually cares... you make me laugh.
And I will give you an example... your tablet or device does not have WIdevineLevel 1 support and you pay for the premium Netflix. I have NO ISSUES using a third party website to stream Netflix to my tablet in HD quality.

Their performance is on par with each other. But there are some major differences.
1. Amazon Bloat is CRAZY
2. Amazon's tablets are running Android 11
3. Amazon's tablets have targeted adds that you can not turn off (part of crazy bloat).
Bottom line... if they both have the same RAM they will be similar in speed.
BUT AS SAID... MANY TIMES....
save yourself some serious money and get yourself a LincPlus T3 or iplay 50 mini pro NFE.

I think the discussion has gone way beyond what tablet someone chooses to use. Regardless of what you use(Apple devices, or android/windows devices) piracy is not good.
And when I mean piracy is OK sometimes, I mean when people are going through hard times(financial issues or something)
Also I never said Apple devices are immune to piracy. I don't buy a iPad or Mac to "make sure I don't pirate stuff"

Also maybe I don't understand, but regardless of how you stream Netflix, you still need to pay for the subscription right?
