Generally speaking, Google usually produces higher quality products and integrated services than Walmart's in-house electronics brand (Onn).

For me, Onn products are great if I need one small, independent item. For items like a media player, I will generally go with the item that has more proven support / functionality.

Can I cast from my phone to TV without internet/wifi (just my phone for service)?

Yup... Use your phone's hotspot to connect the Onn.

The newest model of the Onn 4k is horrible. I owned 2 of the original (which are also 4k) and bought two of the new ones. Both of the new ones exhibited the same deficiencies - slow, clunky & Bluetooth that would drop when connecting two Xbox controllers. Returned the new models and bought a refurbished of the original.

Personally I haven't seen much of a difference in my Onn 4k box and Google dongle, except that I like the Onn remote a lot better.

Considering that this deal is only for the 1080p version of the Google dongle, I'd definitely say the Onn 4k box is a better deal.

Onn 4k is a way better value and product than this. If this was $10 then I'd say it's a deal, but at $20 it's still a joke.

I have 3 of the 4K versions. They desperately need to refresh this device.

Keep in mind, no Dolby Vision on the ONN box. But the ONN is a better device by far compared to the Google HD.

Yeah I had to buy Chromecast 4Ks because the Bluetooth was a deal breaker since I used them extensively for game streaming with my desktop
