The stories about people receiving blatantly Grade B or even C condition equipment is off putting to be honest. I even saw some people received machines without SSDs, missing memory, or operating systems not even installed. Doesn't instill much confidence to be honest

The last grade "A" laptop that I bought was very clean but the hinges got loose real fast.
Just keep expectations low and be prepared to return if not satisfied. Even this title is sort of wrong, Last week I saw a bunch of supposed grade "A" laptops for $169. I don't need and don't care to gamble where years ago I would buy one just to have it in stock if someone was looking. Their loss.
Good Luck!

I've bought 4x machines from them. And although they're clearly used, they're perfectly fine and more than acceptable for the price point and agreed-upon quality level.
Simply put, like ANY other item -- if you get something that's not as described, contact their customer service. Be kind, be clear, be direct with the issue. Document your interactions with them, and if they don't resolve it for you after multiple genuine good-faith attempts, reach out to your Credit Card provider. You're literally PAYING for this protection.

Just to clarify, this isn't Dell outlet but instead dellrefurbished.com, which are different entities. Dell refurbished are off lease machines, which from my experience are generally more obviously used than what is stocked in the Dell outlet

i received with half the ssd that it was showing on my purchase. and there was another one that was so hot that the plastic from o. the side of the keyboard started to melt so i had to turn off in a hurry
How did Customer Service handle the issues?
These places might dump 50-500 units to Dell Financing, who then ship it all directly to FedEx Recycling. They might only have 5-10 technicians.
That's unfortunate because newer tech is always coming out. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some units in their warehouse that have been there for 6-12+ months.
Like all FedEx Recycling deals, it's NOT a rush buy because their 40-50% off "deals" always return in a few days or a couple weeks. No one buys them at regular price.
SD promotes their individual models in separate threads, like posting each individual item in a Costco flyer.
