Check with your insurance if they give you a discount. In the Moen valve thread someone noted that their insurance paid for theirs; I checked with mine (Hanover) an they offer $150 discount if you have auto shutoff and $75 discount if you just have sensors. By that time I'd already had them more than a year, but that $75 more than made up for what I paid for 8 sensors + hub,.

Pair these with this water shut off valve to turn the main water line off when water is detected. I did this and it works great.

Govee connect to the Govee Home app
The water shut off connects to the Smart Life app
To allow them to connect together you will need an account with IFTTT.com. They have an applet there that will allow the sensor to trigger the shut off valve to close upon water detection.

The Govee sensors seem to required the Govee Home app to work, I would prefer to have Home Assistant or the Smart Life app control the shut off valve but I haven't yet figured that out yet.

I purchased the last week's deal which it comes with three sensors for like 30 some dollars and if you want it a fourth sensor you would pay a little bit more so I'm returning those and getting this one instead because I think this is a second generation where the other ones are the previous model the 5040 ones.

Previous deal.

I also had some issue connecting to my Android and tethering the sensors to the hub. what I did is I used an iOS device instead and that fixed it and tested it it works out pretty good.

you would want to drop this under your sink dishwasher laundry room garage or whatever there's water I guess and I'll have to check with my insurance company and see if they'll send me anything

I got the V1 hub and sensors but looks like the gen2 is a lot better.
I did some more research and I'm now leaning toward the Yolink system instead. Battery life looks to be much better (5 years with two AAA batteries), water sensors have "rope" version for confined spaces (fridge, dishwasher), and they have shutoff valve available for integration. Anyone with experience with both systems can speak to their pros and cons?
Cannot speak for v2 but v1 battery life was terrible and couldn't hook up to any smart home system. Yolink hooks up to alexa and I believe Home Assistant as well. The battery life on yolink is excellent

So this doesn't work with Home Assistant?
I have not found a way to integrate this in home assistant but it isn't really needed since these are just set it and forget it devices. It isn't something that needs monitored or adjusted over time

I've been using the V1 for 1.5 years and V2 since October and battery in both is still going strong. The Govee V2 is very impressive compared to Yolink, it is much more sensitive.

It is not better. It's just a different ecosystem. I've tried Govee, Yolink, Smartthings, etc. The Govee sensors have a much more stable connection and are more sensitive to water detection.

How many sensors could one gateway support? I was thinking about buying the gateway + 6 sensors plus 5 individual ones
