If it's like last year's event, just walk in any Target and take a picture or scan the QR code. If you have an old one to trade in then great. I just wouldn't go out of my way to get a used one solely to get the discount for a new one.

Car seats have an expiration date. A lot of what is donated is expired. If anything they're doing this for recycling purposes.

I read somewhere that they used to have this event twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. But last year they only had it once in the spring. Does anyone know if they'll resume the fall event this year? I tried to ask their customer service but they didn't seem to know what I was talking about.

Infant -> Forward Facing -> Booster. Narrower seat to better fit car. Lots of reasons

Last year it was bigger ticket items like walkers/bouncers/play pens if you didn't go for the car seat. I don't think cribs though.

The coupons are stackable. Create Target Registry, after 14days you get a 15% off Target Circle Store Wide offer that is redeemable twice.

Im sure you can apply to both Doona and Evenflo; ill be trading in a car seat on the 14th and placing an order for the Doona stacking the Registry and Car Seat Trade in offers.

Not sure about the 20% off car seat, it has worked in the past for Doona.
I do see Doona has been added to list of exclusions for 15% off registry though, which did not used to be the case. Evenflo is not excluded from registry discount.
