18" and expands to only 30". I'm no fisherman, but that seems pretty short for much use. Lots of offbrand telescoping stuff on amazon that looks like it might be more like what I am used to. This seems to just be a generic one that has been realtree branded.

It is short, but good enough for ice or dock fishing.

Do you folks think these are small enough for 2 and 3 year olds or too big/heavy for them? I was considering buying a couple so that my kids could learn while I also tried using the rod on occasion, to hopefully coach them on some "fishing" basics (MAYBE before one or they both toss the rods into a lake).😅

Thanks for your advice!

I haven't compared it to a toddler pole, but it does have a bit of weight to it for its size. Not sure how helpful that is though 😅

We have nearly this exact same setup for my just turned 3 year old son and he used it to cast all over the house, backyard and pool before our last camping trip and he has become incredibly proficient with it!! He also casted, hooked and reeled in his first ever bass with this setup and a wacky worm on that trip. That boy is totally hooked now 🥰🥰

I bought them several years ago for my 2 boys in a different color
They were maybe 4 / 5 then.
They still use use them. Fun little poles I have used them.

This was normal price back then. Think I paid $16-$18 each then

I have a green one for my three year old son, and a red one for my 6 year old daughter. They love them and they are much better quality than the typical kid rod. They aren't heavy or sophisticated.
