I have been using T-mobile home internet for almost two years. It was actually faster down than our Comcast cable internet and cost half as much. Upload speed has been pretty pathetic though, gets down to 4mbps. Down is usually close to 200mbps. I troubleshooted the up speed with T-mo and they were able to point me to a better location in the house, but we finally had fiber come down our street later in the week so I just had that installed yesterday. We had some drop outs in the first few months w/ T-mo but it turned out to be a faulty sim card in the unit. One unfortunate thing with the home unit is that it doesn't work on the go... we have a RV style van and it doesn't work when it's moving. We did take it on a sailboat for a few days and it worked at 5 knots Smilie

It's ok to have TmObile home internet when you are not particular about reliable service. 200 cash back is not guaranteed!

I read many articles that interet is limited, you can't use it forever like regular internet....once you reach a certain amount, it stop, that limit is very low......I just read articles like 2 days ago

Please do your research on how much internet you are getting per month

Care to post the article? Because this product is not limited. There is a lite version that is limited. But the regular version doesn't have a data cap.

I tried out the unit for 2 weeks and did not keep. In the contract, it does say your speed will be throttled if you used a certain amount of data in a month. I forget how much, but it was lower than my ISP. It also states if the traffic is busy, your speed will be downgraded as well.

The only thing I liked about this service is its portability.

I was going to do this but didn't want to waste a hard pull on this so just signed up for spectrum year even though slightly more expensive after considering the cash back. I wouldn't want that pull to be the determining factor in getting denied for some lucrative offer.

Portability is ended May 8 when the new plans are rolled out including an "Away" TMHI plan which costs $165 per month (!)…they have said internally they will begin geofencing and locking the modems and gateways which means you can't travel or be "portable" with your TMHI any more. And yes the policy will apply to all TMHI users not just those who sign up after the 8th.

Switched from Spectrum two months ago. Service was decent right outta the box. Had it in one bedroom facing the cell tower through a window. Consistently got 150 down\20 up. Was considering an external antenna setup going outside so I switched the box to different locations, including some without window sight and aiming slightly off the tower. All of a suddent my speeds jumped. With some more trial and error I found the best place was in the orignial room with a window. Averaging around 300 down and 40 up, which ranges from 200's to 500's down and 40 to 80 upload. And slight little deviations on the facing of the gateway can make a significant difference, at least in my case no real need for an external antenna setup. Streams multiple TV's just fine, even at 4k. Son plays online games with not gripes about ping. We've blown past the 1.2 T limit in each month, but have not noticed deprioritization. Worth noting....There must be significant capacity in my area. As fast as my home internet is my cell routinely speed tests at gigabit speeds. Most folks are on Spectrum (there's no other wired connection in the area). Spectrum has great speed, but it's expensive. I was paying $240 month for 300 mbps internet and expanded cable. Now it's only $160 (Tmobile $50, Directv Stream $110). Only a matter of time before many others jump ship. Hopefully this won't tax the capacity. And we did apply and receive the $200 rebate. They never notified me, but on around the 60th day of our service I checked the rebate status and was able to access the pre-paid card online. Used the $200 to buy an Amazon gift card balance. The virtual prepaid card expired in August and I didn't want to forget/lose/or let expire the funds.

Thanks I didn't realize they changed, When I was offered it they explicitly said no caps or throttling. I wonder what throttling looks like in terms of speed.

Pretty solid. Have had it for 8 months. Even good enough to game on, depending on the game and location.

I have the T-Mobile $10 30GB hotspot plan. If I use my existing T-Mobile ID, my rate is $65 per month with $5 auto pay discount. If I sign up as a new customer, my rate is $55 per month with $5 auto pay discount. Does anyone else have the same issue?

I have 2 of the $10 business deals that was posted here a couple of years ago. Overall it works good, but I'll repeat what others said. It really depends on the exact location and angle you place it. One part of the house gets 300+mbps speeds while on N41 tower. Move it to another room and the 70 tower drops to 100 or even 80. You really need to try it to see how good it is. My 'area' technically didn't qualify for the home internet, but it still works.
