You do need a wired Fan control wall switch, which will replace existing fan wall switch

Then you can have these Pico (battery operated) remote controls to wirelessly control fan from the comfort of your bed/

We have one of each side of bed

Note: I'm using Pico remote from light switch and it just works fine with Fan control. Just the logo on switch is not fan Smilie

I believe that these remotes only work for AC fans.

Does any reputable company make a "smart" wall switch for ceiling fans I could use to run ceiling fans on a schedule?

Edit: Nevermind, this remote seemingly only works with such a device and was linked in the comments. Wish that would go on sale

You would need the Lutron hub, but with once up and running you can use the app and create an on/off schedule for the fan.

An inexpensive WiFi on/off switch might do the trick, if you don't need speed control (set fan speed manually ahead of time with pull chain). Tp-Link's HS200 is decent quality and anywhere between $12-$15.

Yes, and it looks like the option to report it as expired is disabled, maybe because it's a staff post?

Lutron is pricey but it's more reliable than any other smart switch on the market. Thats what you are paying for. I have at least 10 Lutron Caseta switches and they are great.
Seconded. It's super reliable. Better than Z-wave, zigbee and wifi options.

I don't know... I have a ton of zooz switches and dimmers over zwave and haven't had any issues for 2 years now. They also act as repeaters to extend zwave for other uses like alarm sensors. I went with zooz because they are regularly half the price of caseta and I can customize the led color. Plus they look and feel like a normal switch.

Good that it works well for you. I tried out some homeseer and GE switches when I was testing before I setup automation years ago. I was using home assistant in its infancy as the zwave hub, and my experience was not as good as lutron on top of home assistant. That just worked and I had an independent app. I tested usability with family and after the slight learning curve, lutron won out. When you spread the price out over all the expenses of moving into a home, the extra cost for the reliability was a no brainer. The ability to use the pico switches as remotes and a substitute for 3 and 4 way wiring was nice too.

Unfortunately my fans don't have pull switches so I need a switch with speed selections. Looks like Kasa makes one that doesn't need a hub. I'll wait until its around $20 though, I'm in no rush.

Yep. I bought a starter kit to try it out, and now I have them everywhere.

Thanks - I have a house full of Kasa switches and didn't even realize they had released a fan/light combo switch and in fact just posted it here on SD. If it's the same switch you're looking at (the KS240 at $44.99), pricing's going to remain strong IMO as there really isn't anything else in that category combining a dimmer and fan switch in a single gang form factor. It will be interesting to see if Kasa offers a single gang "fan only" switch (which I think would have been easier and cheaper to develop and release ahead of this dual function switch IMO, bold choice there TP-Link), which could be offered at a lower price. I doubt this KS240 will go lower than $44.99 for some time given the pent-up demand for a device in this segment, especially with Lutron's single function two gang fan and dimmer switch alternatives being in excess of $100 for two separate devices. All speculation on my part, but even at $44.99, that's a lot of functionality to pack in to a single gang box, which will be really attractive to a lot of buyers with dumb combo fan/light switches looking to smartify.

64 seems steep for a fan switch. I know these are smart but is this normal pricing?
I got mine for $37 on ebay a few years ago, people sell them new in box that they purchase in bulk all the time.
