Usually about the best price for this one, I have the radar only one and then upgraded to this one and this is by far the best thing I've ever bought for road & gravel biking..

Great deal. Thanks for posting.

You might need to open in incognito to get the email sign up pop-up.

I can't get the $10 off coupon for the sign-up coupon. I even tried incognito mode.

Still very useful, because you don't see many cars you don't need to worry or need to look behind you (you can focus on dodging ruts and potholes). Yes you can usually hear approaching cars better on gravel but with the wind noise varia gives advanced notice

thanks OP!

I was eyeing the varia without a tail light thread yesterday and decided to wait for the light version after reading the comments.

I would definitely get it with the light. The light itself is synced with the radar, so when a car is detected it flashes at a different frequency in addition to telling your garmin there is a car.

It doesn't replace common sense. But as a cyclist, even if you're riding a foot inside the road in a straight line, you can still scoot over an extra inch to let a car know that you know they're there. I love mine.

Thanks OP! Now to wait on on a deal for the Edge 840.

I can't get the $10 off coupon cause I'm not getting the sign up pop up. Not too worried as there is there is 8% CB from AJ which works out to $12 off. Guess I'll take that instead.

*Edit*
Had to reset my password on using my phone and I got the pop up for the email sign up. Try on your phones.......

Probably one of the best investments I've made as a cyclist.

I ride on a lot of rural roads where massive trucks tend to like to be way too close to us cyclists. Been waiting for a deal on one of these to give me some better awareness of what vehicles are closing in on me (I already have mirrors on the ends of my drop bars, but sometimes I am just focused on riding rather than the mirrors.)

You can still do mix loops, connecting to your dirt-road loop over pavement etc.
It is also a "radar", not a car detector, so it can also warn you about bikes that might be coming down faster than you and gaining on your tail on those DH sections.

So...there are uses for any kind of bike for it.
Do those justify it for you per se? Maybe not. But for many it does Wink

Electric cars, silent but/and deadly.
