Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

So after seeing this I ran over to my local subaru dealer who has 3 of these in stock. Msrp was $46,850 for the cheapest one in stock. I was able to get $14,000 off of sticker price with all discounts/ incentives/ tax credits here in new jersey. They ran the lease on perfect credit 850 credit score for 36 months and 10,000 miles per year and got back to me with a monthly payment of $510 per month for a sign and drive deal with not a single penny due at signing.
This doesnt seem like a good deal to me.

So much false info in this thread.

ICE is dead. EV is the future. You can complain with your cowboy hats and infrastructure/range anxiety all you want, but in the next 20 years ICE won't be around anymore. Some countries already have made a full shift to EV.

You people don't get it. Whether you want to invest in it now or not, or just complain, we're there now. It's viable, and EV will increase and take over. Guaranteed. It'll take some more time for the full rollout, but it's inevitable.

Name one country that has "made a full shift to EV."
When Ford was building it's Blue Oval EV Project, not one vehicle was electric, not even the golf carts used to bus workers.

Until they make an EV which fully recharges in 15-20 mins (this is the time taken to refill gas, use the restroom and grab something to munch on while I'm on long trips) I'll be avoiding these for now. As it stands, Toyota's hydrogen engines look more promising.
Not to full, but cars can charge 10%-80% in 15 minutes. 80%-100% is always slow because charging is slow when the pack is close to full. If you go on frequent road trips that require multiple charges, get one that has at least 200 kW charge speed where 70% of the range is the range that you need so that you can charge 10%-80% between stops.

Not 100% yet, but Norway was at 82% EV adoption rate for 2023 and going up

.

Define full?

Norways new car sales were at about 94% electric last I checked though... ~92% full electric, another just under 2% plug-in hybrids.

Where are you getting cars for $35 a day post-COVID? I assume a work code/agreement with a rental agency? Genuinely curious as that's effectively what I used to get for National but it's closer to $50 a day after day now.
Just a quick search of Hertz, no agreement applied, Denver airport over the weekend, a rogue is 36.46 a day. With a corporate rate, the Rogue is somehow 68 a day, a tesla model Y is 35, a Pacifica is 48, a polestar 2/bolt is 33.55.

After fees and what not, I think last time I rented was around 50 a day for a van.

Actually, 268 for 5 days.

Looking at Expedia at MCO for 4 days its insanely cheap.

In the words of Phil Robertson..."I could be wrong, but I doubt it".

The writing is on the wall, and once it starts it will be a race to the bottom, with the stubborn dealers losing out most. Followed by an influx of affordable cars that the dealers (and manufacturers) have turned their noses up at for the last few years.
Chinese made electric cars are very cheap with competitive stats. Not available here, and likely politics will block them (or add huge taxes and fees) in the immediate future. But they are completely changing the EV market in Asia and multiple European countries.

Up to 158 mi can be recharged in ten minutes for Q6 etron. 10% to 80% is 21 min. Should be available by the end of 2024.

There was no green deal passed, what passed into law was the IRA, that wasnt shoved down anyones throats, it only incentivized certain green products because nobody is paying for the envirinmental damage fossil fuels have done. Anyone can still buy gas cars. If you're whining about anything shoved down throats, whine about the taxpayer subsidies that have existed for decades for the fossil fuel industry, including funding the misinformation echo chambers you've been swimming in.
Year 2035, watch out

Which dealer was it? I was thinking of going to Avenel, which seems to have 8 in stock or go to Hillside Route 22. My son is going to a nearby county college. This would have been perfect if the lease deal actually existed.
