Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

Still, better than a Fisker Ocean. At least this would last the lease.

EVs are good for commuting in their current state, if you can effectively charge at home… beyond that, nope. Certainly not a vehicle I'd want in an emergency 😉
I don't know if you are aware but many companies have free charging at work.

Wife was paying about $100 per week in gas... now it is FREE.

We have a trickle charger that does about 1% per hour and it is good enough for the weekends.

My brother-in law just doesn't drive enough and he may use a supercharger once every month but he also uses the trickle charger for all other charging. He does not have free charging but it works for him.

Others will install a charger at their home or use the "electric" dryer plug. These chargers usually do about 7 - 10 miles per hour. What is good is if you live in a state that has lower price electricity at night.

I was very skeptical but it only took a week for me to really like the EV's. I love the one pedal driving.

It's fun to just make stuff up on an interwebs forum… isn't it?
Nobody can overcome the law of supply and demand, not even you. Meet me here in 6 months so I can watch you eat your words, or you can watch me eat mine. I've seen this kind of bubble a hundred times, and it always ends the same way.

If I don't buy a car, I'm mildly inconvenienced.

If a dealer doesn't sell a car, he's bankrupt.

So who has the leverage in a market like that, the seller or the buyer?

The buyers who were willing to overpay have already bought, and the rest are refusing to buy at current prices. "Market adjustments" are a 2-way street.

It's called a crushed consumer and inflation. It's too easy to blame the dealers. Cars are expensive because money was printed recklessly.
Every 8 years the stock market will double.,.. in 8 years the DOW will be at 80,000 and in 16 years the DOW will be at 160,000.

It is not about printing money.

I just don't feel 158 mi is enough for a all electric EV. Our model Y has 310 mi and sometime I feel that is not enough.
The range of q6 is 381 mi. Like 25% more than your Y...

So I paid... $40K (with tow hitch) after tax and rebates. The audi is like $70+K before tax and fees.

Also, I feel Tesla makes the best EV due to how long they have been doing it. I own the tesla for about 2 months and have already gotten 2 updates.

Plus the electric network that Tesla owns.

But 310 works pretty good. And with the free charging at work and the trickle charger at home... it is perfect.

175 miles means nothing! Not even 4 hours drive! Succcc
honesly, the vast majority of the population drives much less than that everyday. If you have only one car or are a single person, then it's probably not your best bet. but if you have another car, this could be a great second car.

FYI I received a $50 Visa gift card pop up for test driving a solterra.
I think you should put this in Wiki. This is the real deal of this post. I can't even find a 2023 Solterra in my area.

It's funny how the news talks about the DOW now-new record!
Gee thanks for that new trendy buzzword full of meaningless info and claim!

Sorry, Tesla feels like cheap car, bad materials, uncomfortable, bad design. But that is all subjective. Some people like Tesla. Audi is a luxury brand. However, it is all unrelated to the point. The person was wondered for fast chargers. Q6 is 270 kW.

I can never understand why people who don't want to buy an EV feel the need to bash the whole concept. I have zero interest in owning a big truck again, but some people are into that, and that's cool for them. I'm not going to bash them about how they never tow anything and don't need it and it's sTuPiD. It's what they like. Same for some EV owners.

Seems like I read somewhere that it was 35 cents a KWH or so there, which is crazy. I pay 12-15 cents a KWH. And honestly, I haven't seriously considered an EV purchase, so I've never researched electricity costs per mile. I'd love it if a current EV owner could comment on operating costs.
Ioniq electric 19', 65k on it, commute 33 miles each way x 4 nights a week. Charge at home using solar. ZERO battery degradation noticed....
It gets about 5 miles/kw.
Eversource Electric bill was $350/month, owned system with 3 batteries is a $250/month bill x 10 years after tax credit.... so tell me how bad this is?
AND not a "green" person, just a cheap one 🙄 who likes to save.
