Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

I bought solar panels for my home when we moved to Colorado in 2016. I got a 30% tax credit and the panels paid off two years ago. I no longer pay for electricity and, in fact, with net metering Xcel Energy sends me a check every month for the excess energy I send back to the grid. The panels will last 25 years. So I guess that makes me a dumbass.

Yep. That's why I drive a Giulia and ordered a 911.

Not sure I've heard much good of anything about the Solterras. You can hit this price range if you look w the VW id4 on standard range, assuming they're still clearing out 2023 stock.
My daughter is a tech for Subaru...
At dinner she laughed and almost spit out her food at the mention of this thread. Wink

They are not Carrera, I know, but thought this was a site that caters to frugal people. These cars serve us the purpose I noted above, and even if they lose 50% of the value after 3 years, which they will not at these prices, assuming 10K miles per year, it is a cheaper option than this Subaru lease.

Doesn't surprise me that these are this cheap.

I've had a impreza and crosstrek lease, they called me about leasing this and I looked into it but they are trash. Look at the reviews before getting one.

because your "alternative energy" BS was shoved down our throats. The new green deal has proven to be a farce.
Lol please explain what Green New deal you are referring to? I'm aware of an infrastructure deal but nothing called a green new deal that has been even voted on in Congress.

There was no green deal passed, what passed into law was the IRA, that wasnt shoved down anyones throats, it only incentivized certain green products because nobody is paying for the envirinmental damage fossil fuels have done. Anyone can still buy gas cars. If you're whining about anything shoved down throats, whine about the taxpayer subsidies that have existed for decades for the fossil fuel industry, including funding the misinformation echo chambers you've been swimming in.
Nice red herring.

How are they cheaper if they cost $20k now and if "they lose 50% of their value" in three years…that would be 10k vs the defined 8k.

In those 3 years, I'd imagine the maintenance that may be due on a used Leaf/Niro would be more than the Subaru.

Also, I'd imagine that selling a 6-7 year old Niro/Leaf would be difficult too.

Is the EV rebate available for leases? Didn't used to be but I'm sure the greedy power companies are just waiting on the insurance companies to finish their turn price gouging so they can have a turn and quadruple the cost of power and blame wildfires and make fake brownouts. Enron was genius and way ahead of their time only reason they got caught.
Yes the credit is available on leases, but there's still an upper cap on the MSRP, income, where they are made, etc. CR has a good breakdown of what is eligible: Link [consumerreports.org].

Until they make an EV which fully recharges in 15-20 mins (this is the time taken to refill gas, use the restroom and grab something to munch on while I'm on long trips) I'll be avoiding these for now. As it stands, Toyota's hydrogen engines look more promising.
Ioniq 5? Recharges 0to80 in 18min. And you don't arrive at 0... so less usually.

Scroll down to the $241
Showing 4 cars in inventory. $623-629/month for a 4-year lease and $6k+ due at signing. Can't duplicate the deal.

Having owned 2023 Bolt EUV, I highly recommend EV as a commuter car. If you rely on public charging, you will pay more than gas car though, as charging is expensive.

For 50%, I said, even if. I did a rough estimate how much they would need to lose to cost as the lease But they will not.I just checked CarMax. 23 Leaf S is $20K, 18 Leaf S is 14.6K. The main value loss is in the first two years, once they are older than 3 years, they become eligible for a used EV credit, which also keeps the price from dropping significantly.

Not here to argue, but thought it is an option worth checking. And since I mentioned a used EV tax credit, if a person qualifies, may help too

I went through this whole thread, and hopefully this helps. It seems to be a local deal in CA. Here is the actual download from Subaru website. I have a attached a pic of the pdf.

To replicate,
1. Go to Subaru Website.
2. Enter zip code 95407 for specials and deals
3. Click 23 models and you will see the deal.

NOTE: When you check inventory from the 3 dealerships that come up.....there are none in stock!

Your WelcomeWink !!!
