it's that the ethernet connection from the monitor will pass through usb-c to the laptop, so it gives the laptop a hard wired internet connection when plugged into the monitor

Ips, Ethernet, 90w usb c; this hits all points for productivity! Gaming will suffer due to 60Hz (you really want >= 120hz) but otherwise solid monitor for a new price

It also has built-in speakers. Plus 3yrs warranty. Excellent deal.

How did you adjust the gamma, I'm only seeing canned settings and some very basic adjustments such as brightness, etc. I assume if HDR is chosen it grays out the black adjust, etc.
Click the joystick, Settings/Picture/color adjust/Gamma. I think default was mode 2 but I found mode 1 had the least altering of color, seems more washed out/white-balanced but more true

Lots of quirks. I orginally used my HDMI - HDMI cable and saw color adjust and then switched to the HDMI - DP cable that came with the monitor and when using it the color adjust was grayed out. I put the HDMI - HDMI cable back in and can see it again. By trying to get the color adjust back the picture quality is a lot better with the HDMI - HDMI cable. Thanks

Dumb question. Does anyone know where to download the LG OnScreen Control software to do the split screen? The only download I see in the support portal for this model is the drivers. TIA
It's not on this particular model's download page, but here's one. Unfortunately, mine is packed up ready to go back. Good luck.

I only spend a bit of time setting it up, but unless I'm wrong, there's 2 USB-A ports that you can plug in a mouse/keyboard or what have you and then either the USB-B to A (you supply the cable) or USB-C (cable included) port plug into your computers. You can select what physical display output (HDMI, DP) is mapped to the USB C or B(to-A)
There are four USB-A ports, two on the bottom and two on the right side. I think all four are downstream ports, therefore, the USB-C must connected to the main source to supply current.

I've tried the hyperlink above with no success and have also tried putting in what looks like the model number above.

Hyperlink doesn't work for me either. Was the filename "ddmsetup.exe" size 70.27 MB?

Just google LG onscreen control and download from LG directly. Works on my MacBook Air.

If you are still looking for the software, here's a link to another model, with software for Windows and Mac. Drivers are model specific, but Dual Controller should be the same.

Keep in mind this is not the same like a real KVM, it only works if both machines are on the same network. If you have work computer on VPN, you can't control cursor cross screen to home. Dual screen is limited to 50/50, I saw some model allow 5:9 and 9:5 split, but not this one.

I like the monitor, quality and uniformity are good, but not enough curve, so it's brighter in the center, sort of distracting. The real deal breaker is RJ45 capped at USB 2.0, which is sad.

Edit: sorry, forgot the link

I love the docking feature, but the color washout and darkness around the sides is really bothering me. I adjusted the gamma to 1 and turned up the brightness.

I can't download any external programs since I'm using this mostly at work. If anyone has any additional settings tips to improve the picture I'd appreciate it :-).

Thanks for the reply. That's interesting. I don't get how it could power a laptop but not a light, but oh well. Do you have any ideas on a solution? I'm trying to minimize my workspace, particularly wires, so adding a hub (which I was trying to get rid of with this monitor) is not appealing, nor is having to plug/unplug in my light every time.
Sometimes the best solution is the simplest--USB to AC convertor. In my case I had to plug my keyboard directly into the laptop. Which was annoying.

I also was very disappointed with the washed out color. This is what I did that fixed it and now I really like the monitor.

- If you are using the HDMI - DP cable that came with the monitor switch it out with an HDMI - HDMI cable.
- Then go to General Settings and Reset to Initial Settings

Order of the above is not important.

The HDMI to HDMI cable made the picture quality a lot better after the reset to initial settings, very acceptable. Setting the gamma to 1 was not required and only made it more washed out after the changes above.

It was a glorious couple of days before the horizontal lines and burnt image appeared on the monitor. I'm hoping they will give me a new one that works because it was good while it lasted.

I Googled it and found a link in a Reddit thread to LG and dowloaded it. Works on Windows 11.

At $250 this was truly a slickdeal!

Gamma 1 seems most white balanced so that is probably the washout, but it is also the brightest where I never have to exceed 50 on brightness. Play around with the contrast and other picture options to see if you get a better picture but my assumption is brightness is too high
