It's a great place and I love going there. Sorry you've had a bad experience. That said, not even close to burning. It's a profitable company with no debt.
I don't remember the last time I had bad service in the physical store.
Store is still profiting, debt free and sitting on over $1B. Definitely not going out of business anytime soon.
Irrational hate? We are literally just giving first hand accounts of our experiences at the store lol
Or shorting and need it bankrupt but won't cause almost 50% of corp is cash now. Must suck and since CEO cannot be bribed since GameStop is his life now.
Unlike a certain popcorn company with a pedo CEO. Helping Wall Street private equity further naked short and slander with media owned by hedge funds. Oops you didn't think we knew that?
Yes your wall Street corruption has spread to even deal forums
Yay instead of $1 for my Xbox games, I get $1.50 -- such a deal! Id rather donate my games to a local charity.
Local charity are worst than GameStop. They'll sell the game at market values and will report no taxes due to "charity". Meanwhile the CEOs of charities are winning tens of thousands of dollars or more per year.

GameStop is a big business like any other and they have some icky business practices like any other big business. I've heard they treat their employees like crap, and the sticker price on a lot of used games is quite absurd. I was browsing yesterday and saw they were selling a used copy of Jedi Fallen Order on PS5 for $35, when it costs $22.73 new on Amazon. Between that and the ways they've nerfed the Pro membership and the myriad other little things, it's not hard to understand why some people don't like them.
But I personally still value their trade-in system, especially when they run promos like this one. Outside of trying your luck bartering with people on places like OfferUp and FB Marketplace, there's really nowhere else you can trade your played games to get new ones at low or no cost.
Over the past couple days I spent a few hours scouring FB marketplace for people who were selling games with a high trade value at GameStop, traded with them for stuff I didn't need anymore (not just games), and pretty easily racked up over $400 in trade credit after bringing them to GameStop. I even got a couple duplicates of high-value games and just had my girlfriend trade them in. I fully paid off a Stellar Blade pre-order, bought used copies of a couple newish games I've been wanting to play (Unicorn Overlord, Star Ocean the Second Story), and still had about $250 in credit after. I could buy a PS Portal and still have credit left over, and I didn't spend a single dollar.
Granted that's a very specific case where I had to find random people to parlay with to end up getting all that credit, and it took a bit of back and forth, and driving around. But my point is there's nowhere else I would have been able to do that besides GameStop. So I appreciate that they're still around, doing stuff like this. It also goes to show why physical will always be superior to digital, because you have equity in your games.
