Good price, but 52 dBA is pretty loud if that's important to you.

Wrap another layer of insulation or a blanket around it

What I hear is Whirlpool is less costly for repairs, and GE original brand was sold off so not same quality anymore.

Don't know about whirlpool dishwashers but if it's anything like their washers/dryers...hard pass. Used to love whirlpool but quality has gone way down in recent years. Bought a GE washer instead (3-4 yrs ago) and so far so good.

Quality aside, if your the type to pack your dishwasher with larger items, the third rack is a hindrance as you have to remove it to fit items on the second rack. If you don't and have large utensils like spatulas, grill gear etc, it can be useful. For example I can't fit a metal bowl type strainer on the upper rack if the third rack is in place.

I don't mean to threadcrap, but based on the price history, this seems like a regular price for a cheap and loud dishwasher, no?

Seems to be on par yes. The big deals are this price with a steal tub inside and grinder.

This has the macerator that's becoming rare ever since Bosch convinced people that higher maintenance filters are better. I wouldn't buy a dishwasher without it.

I have a GE Profile dishwasher from around 2016 or so, and thankfully it's still going but I've probably done about $300 in repairs on it since then. Also had to replace my GE microwave after approximately 3 years from that same time period. The only GE products that are still going strong for me are my refrigerator (purchased in 2007) and washer/dryer (also purchased in 2007). Seems like the older stuff is the only thing built to last.
