That's interesting. I have a Rog Ally Z1 Extreme, and it's great as a mobile gaming PC for my Steam games. I usually dock it to an external monitor/hotel TV, etc, and it works well enough for older AAA titles and RPG games. The only real issue is storage, as games are getting humongous.

I wonder if the bandwidth of the USB-C that's feeding this hub, and all its peripherals, to the device can handle an SSD + Video + Mouse/Keyboard, without getting saturated (vs a cheaper/slower USB flash drive in on of the USB ports).

Generally speaking, trying to run most modern (last 5 years) games on the steamdeck at a resolution above it's native 720p is going to introduce frame rate issues. It's a great piece of kit but doesn't have the juice to push pixels on newer 3d games at anything much greater than that. In my experience, things like Cyberpunk, Stray and Guardians of the Galaxy are best left at the auto detect settings when using a dock like this as there is no additional processing power introuduced by the dock.

While its targeted for Steam Deck / ROG Ally, I wonder if it would be modifiable to allow Android devices with USB-C ports at the bottom, such as AYN Odin2 and Galaxy Note.

In the photo, I see a rectangular cut-out at the base of the slot where a device would rest. So, perhaps "feed" the USB-C cable through the dock base and the USB-C connector through the cut-out.

Anyone know if this has any issues with the CEC & ARC, I use Sonos and the Jsaux ones would not work, kept looping between Sonos and TV speakers.

This is not a docking station as it didn't provide its own power supply, it's regular hub that you can buy for $10-20 ish. Using your own 65w may not sufficient enough to power all connectors.

I have an Odin 2 and legion go. The USB cord could be extended but you'd have to drill a hole or something at the bottom to dock it properly lol

Depends on the enclosure but I don't think I've seen a $3 enclosure (and one which does both NVMe and SATA). I just purchased the $10 Orico enclosure but the people in the thread said it's not very good speed wise. I wouldn't use it for fast speed which is why I got that one. I was thinking this one would be faster since it's meant for playing games directly from it but honestly have no idea how the performance compares.
