I've got to say that this reeks of bullshit. They are selling licenses to list yourself as TOP TIERâ„¢, so the study is riddled with bias. I just read through the study, and while intake valves showed significantly less deposits, most other areas of the engine did not. The study was over 100 hours with undoubtedly favorable conditions to get the results desired, so attempting to draw any conclusions about what any of this means for long term reliability is not possible. It might be worth considering if someone owns a car from the decade or so of poorly designed direct injected engines that are prone to deposits, but if someone decided to drive 10 miles out of the way to get TOP TIERâ„¢, they are playing a fool's game. If it is already at your Costco, why not? Personally, I'm very comfortable that Sam's doesn't choose to engage in this money grab to license their product as TOP TIERâ„¢, since not being TOP TIERâ„¢ does not mean you have less detergents.

You have to use critical thinking in these things. If adding a little more detergent really added 4% to fuel efficiency and simultaneously decreased emissions, there's no damned way the EPA wouldn't increase the minimum fuel requirements. The truth is that most fuel in the nation would qualify for TOP TIERâ„¢ if they decided to pay TOP TIERâ„¢ for the privelege of branding that way.

Top tier fuel is a badge companies pay for, similar to good housekeeping & to jd power for more validity. Just because a company doesn't opt for the top tier badge, it doesn't mean it isn't good gas.

If you have one nearby it's worth getting for the gas savings alone.

When I go into Account, there's no option to turn off auto-renewal. Do we have to get the card first in order to do that?

I think you have to cancel membership and it will run through the renewal date.

It looks like they changed it. There used to be a checkbox where you can uncheck the auto-renewal option. Now it says: By clicking Cancel Membership, your membership and all add-on memberships will expire on the date listed above.

I know some people don't care what brand of gas they put in their car or use the cheapest regular gas in town. Costco gas is a top quality gas than unlike Walmart. It's like Shell or Exxon. That's if you believe that gas aren't all equal.
Most definitely. Not arguing that costco's gas isn't better. Most things at Costco are higher quality. Mostly I'm just making a joke - but quite often this is how I'm picking my gas since I'm just trying to get to work. And I figure Sam's Club gas might be bad for my car, but the Costco customers are bad for my health (at least by me where the people are kind of jerks and there should be 2 Costco's in my area but the people keep shutting it down (High-developing area of CA).

Costco gas isn't like Shell, Mobil or Chervon. It's close to 76 in term of mileage, well better than Arco and Valero, a bit better than Sam's. They tend to price their gas a few cents less than Sam's in my area but they only accept Visa so you lose out on the 5% back on Discover or Citi MC when there's a promo.

Things I don't like at Sam's Club (at least at the one in Edison, NJ) are:
- There's not a lot of types of laptops to choose
- A few years ago, they didn't honor the return policy on Sam's Club website which said that items purchased online can be returned in store. They didn't take back the item I bought online. I called customer service and they couldn't do anything and asked me to return by mail which I didn't want to as it was an expensive laptop.

There are five refineries in Los Angeles. The BTU/gal tends to vary slightly from winter to summer due to formulation. However, daily variation should not be greater than a few %, resulting in imperceptible change in fuel mileage. Marathon Petroleum is the biggest producer in Los Angeles. Mobil, for example, would add its own additive to the gas, then ship the gas to a Mobil gas station.

My 86 Mazda and 08 Corolla have clean intake valves due to the use of port fuel injection. Both run mostly on a steady diet of fresh gas from Sam's. Short and long term fuel trims on the Corolla always under 1.2% with +190K miles. Gasoline is an excellent detergent. One should not experience injector problem with frequent driving and the use of CLEAN FRESH fuel. This is one of the main reason why Toyota implements port and direct injections to keep the intake valves clean. Trust the science instead of marketing hype.

How are you going enter Sams without a membership card?
They don't check for cards here, or the last state I lived in. If they do check just say pharmacy as you can use it without a membership or say you're there to get a membership and head towards service desk and then keep walking lol.

The nonsese about higher octane as in that BMW of other similar high compression engines is BS. Regular or Mid can be used. Those are the facts. The only differnece may be performance may be a little lower. There is nothing dirty or unsafe for the engine. Unless somebody is driving a race car which most people arent or a 250K Lamborgini Premium not needed. No warranty is impacted.
If you're gonna spend the $ on a bmw and the maintenance, why not get the max enjoyment out of it. The 50 cents isn't gonna affect most of the ppl I've seen in the bmw dealership

This is now $14. I still can't get it to work though. Even using different names, email addresses, phone numbers and credit cards it tells me I'm not a new member. It must be keying off the name on the credit card
