I have a number of these B&D 20v tools and most are not great except the drill and impact drivers which are fine for homeowner level use. The saws are underpowered and not great quality but the batteries and drill alone are well worth this. Sometimes you'll see the drill/driver combo with two batteries for around $50 and I bought a set for $25 on clearance once but this is a decent deal. They aren't Milwaukee or Dewalt level but again decent for light use around the house and 20v is a pretty great for this price point. From the photo this is their higher-level drill, they have a cheaper version. I'd suggest you buy this set and look for the impact with battery to fill out your DIY home kit.
That moment you realize DeWalt is made by black and decker
The price is pretty attractive compared to a similar set from any other brand. But if you can spend a little more/wait for a deal, I would go with a Ryobi set. I think they are better tools than BD and you'll be in a much bigger eco system if you need another tool in the future.

These are great for homeowners that need them for occasional use.
But how occasional are we talking about? If use once a year or few years, would buying battery like this work? Like do you have it to it charge and how often?

I bought this kit ~8 years ago, and have used them for many renovation projects over the years. Aside from a few hiccups (probably just battery wear) all of the tools are still going strong.

Like a few times a month. They hold a decent charge. I built my current desk using lumber from home depot using these tools. They won't keep up with the big names the trades use but they get the job done.

I think the B&D 20V string trimmers (AKA "weedeaters") are great products. They are small and LIGHT, easy to use, and do a good edging and trimming the yard!

I have a black & decker jigsaw that I bought from a local Marshal's store for $17 😂. But I must say both the product and cut quality is impressive. I find it very difficult to cut straight with my dewalt circular saw without any guide but I can cut straight with the black & decker jigsaw. So in terms of quality, they surely are good.
The tool you are talking about is a plug-in tool - not a battery tool. Big difference

my drill is 10 years old and still working like a champ but for this price, its good to have a backup if it ever finally breaks

Thank you! Great deal! I already have a weed wacker, hedger, and two drills that use these batteries. I really need a skill saw and some extra batteries. This is amazing. Thank you!

Needed a reciprocating saw for a shed I need to do some demo on. Already have a B&D drill, gotta be a decade old now. Dropped it from the roofline of my rancher. On concrete a bunch. It's a tough thing. Battery still acts like a new one too. Same 20v ecosystem. Didn't have a cordless circular saw either. Will be nice to not have to drag out the extension cord for those chores. Light might be useful sometimes too.

Thanks OP. Actually slick!

The sawzaw and drill are decent. The circular saw has limited depth (5 1/2'' blade) and power, ok for short cuts with plywood, but not good for long cuts or anything thicker like a 2x4. It did come in handy for me for cutting some bad cedar planks off roof due to it's small size.

To me this can be a decent to good deal if someone still ok with the circular saw limitations, as well as the small 1.5ah batteries, and still missing an impact drill which i think essential 20v tool. This black and decker tool line I have found to be a lighter duty generally though than my ryobi's, and maybe someone else could speak how it compares to hart. So I'd generally lean to ryobi because very large eco system and higher quality in my experience for not that much more money.

This is great to know. Can circular saw cut any type of wood or only selective ?
Note this is a 5.5 inch blade circular saw so you are just barely able to cut a 2x4. Some 5.5" circular saws need a top down and bottom up cut to cut a 2x4. Also, a 1.5 mAh battery is going to make maybe 3-5 cuts before it quits. And you'll have to go slower so you don't seize the blade due to lower amp output.

Consider these factors if ripping 2x4 is your most common use case.

Great deal, decent tools. I have most of the B&D tools, and around 20 batteries. I'm slowly switching to the Ryobi ecosystem but I still use BD all the time while I wait for more Ryobi tools to go on sale. At this price point the BD would probably be a moneymaker if you part it out on FBMP/eBay. I did that when this 4-tool set was $50 for BF awhile back. Shipping costs may have gone up since then though.
When and where was this set $50?

I bought a similar set back in 2015 ($80). (BDCDHP2204KT)
https://slickdeals.net/e/8270777-back-again-black-decker-4-tool-20-volt-max-lithium-ion-li-ion-cordless-combo-kit-with-soft-case-99-or-less-reg-179?v=1

2015?!? Holy time flies. EEK!

The difference between my model and this deal:
Ldx220 = 1/2" drill vs Ldx120 = 3/8" drill
Mine's came with fast battery charger, this deal is a slow trickle (?) charger.

I am in shock the batteries haven't deteriorated in almost a decade.
Or maybe they have? I don;t think i've used it in the past 2 years Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Wife & I picked up this kit ~8 years ago in Home Depot for around the house crap to save us trips going to the basement for tools.
Still going strong, we keep the flashlight by the back door for letting the dogs in & out at night, battery lasts forever. Drill lives in a drawer with the battery popped out, quick to grab and zip together quick jobs, we charge it once or twice a year if that.

There's also a portable AC/DC Tire & Air mattress inflator, and a folding hand vacuum that take the same batteries, both are small and store in the corner of the trunk. Great for keeping the car free of pet hair and the odd time your tire pressure is low/off or airing up bikes & balls. There's a faster charger you can get for like 15-20 bucks on amazon that takes charging from 4 hours to like 15 minutes. We did have one of the 4 batteries finally stop taking a charge on us recently, but it was beat to shit and covered with paint and nearly a decade old.

Not bad if you know your use case is similar.

If ripping 2x4s is your normal "use case", you might want to investigate the availability of 2x2s…
