Link for reference only. I purchased this Dishwasher on 4/3 based on a thread started here for the price of $848. I went in-store this morning and noticed that the price (In-Store Only) is now $749. I immediately went to CS and cancelled my order and re-ordered at the lower price. Attached a photo of the deal and looks to be good until 4/24.

I bought this last year. it's a weird dishwasher, my 10yr old one was better.
Seems made for plates, bowls don't fit right.
And the washer is finicky, you have to be careful to not block certain areas.
Doesn't clean as well as my old one either which is crazy. But it is quiet, can't tell its running unless right next to it.

Regret my purchase.
Inflation sucks, I bought a 800 series for $599 pre-pandemic
Seems hard to believe a ten year old model is better than this very highly rated model. I have this dishwasher and it's excellent.

FWIW I replaced a Kitchenaid that died <2 years with the 500 and couldn't be happier. I had several problems with new KA appliances and bought the 500 for $1100 despite the option to replace the KA for $500 because I lost all faith in the brand.

I love that there's no hearing element for drying. Plastic dishes don't dry as well for sure but no worry about melting.
Which model of KitchenAid? I was about to get the Kitchenaid KDTE204KBS because it's suuuuper quiet at only 39db. This Bosch is 44db, but may be more reliable. I have daily migraines so noise matters.

Don't buy LG or Samsung. All South Korean brands sucks, from dishwasher to refrigerator to washer and dryer.
Lol. I have a Samsung side by side fridge which I love. I had it for many years in my last home and when I moved, I was happy to see they still made the same model, so I bought it again. 6yrs later and zero issues. Now the LG washer & dryer I bought 2 yrs ago are a different story. No breakdowns, but it does not clean near as well as the Maytag front loader I had before it.

Almost positive that model was the same price as the bosch 500 in store. But anything below 44db is a marketing ploy IMO. I did like the look of the kitchen aid better though.

These Bosch dishwashers are highly touted and get stellar reviews. We bought an 800 series when redoing the kitchen in 2019 and so far, I'm unimpressed. I wanted to believe the reviews so badly but it just doesn't live up to them, unfortunately.

I bought a Bosch 800 series, but it arrived smashed.
I needed something immediately, after waiting a week for that one.
I went into Lowe's again and found a great deal on a brand new canceled special order Kitchen Aid. Ended up getting it for $360 because of a really nice employee who was just filling in, as nobody from the appliance dept came in that day. She let us use a Home Depot coupon and veteran discount on top of the already half off the machine!

We love it. Super quiet And cleans great. Holds more than my previous sears whirlpool (that was given to me used) or the piece of crap Frigidaire before that.

Just out of curiosity, why is the Bosch brand so much more expensive than other brands? Are they so much better than others?

No, marketing built a reputation and bosch is cashing in.

Got this and installed this morning. Installation was pretty easy. I will note that this is louder than the Whirlpool DW it is replacing from Costco that I got for $479 7 years ago. So there is a difference between 44Db and 42Db. The DW is still quiet so we can talk next to it while it is running. However, the Whirlpool was barely perceptible whereas this one is definitely perceptible.

Bosch used to be regarded as the best dishwasher a long time ago and that reputation stuck around. They had a control board issue that made them very expensive to repair. But Miele and Asko have been making better dishwashers though more expensive I much prefer them to Bosch.

Why are people, that hate Bosch dishwashers, reading through pages of comments about Bosch dishwashers and spending their valuable time posting about how much they like other dishwashers? If they're happy with their dishwasher, why are they even searching for dishwashers on here?? Weird

I went ahead and bought this. Home Depot employee thought I was crazy when I told her it was supposed to be $750 until she looked it up. Luckily, the Bosch rep was there at the time and he hooked me up with the rebate info.

I assumed the rebate info was in this post, but cell coverage was sketchy and I couldn't verify at the time.

I loved it personally. Never had a single issue with it. Dishes were always spotless. It had some extra drying features I never used because I didn't want to use the extra energy consumption when I mostly just cared about clean dishes.

I have one it is over 16 years old now still works awesome loved it from day one. I use no rinse aid and Sam club brand pods. Best appliance so quiet.

Unfortunately, it seems like there are no good manufacturers anymore...

This feels like the truth. In the past you had companies making products that were built to last. These days, they build them for planned obsolescence so you have to fork out another several hundred dollars to keep their revenues coming in.

Novi. MI Home Depot had this for $748 today. Wish I was in the market - we paid $800 for a 300 series in 2019 and thought that was a great price.

It's kind of our own fault.

We (the population in general) seems to have lost critical thinking skills. We can no longer compare products effectively.

In the past, we would evaluate the additional cost for a better product and make a smart value decision. Now we seem to go for the lowest price at all times. Maybe part of this is an uneducated sales force who can't communicate the benefits of better but more expensive products.

I heard a comedian talk about shopping for a refrigerator:
"The salesman said 'this one is $600 and keeps your food cold. THIS one is $800 and keeps your food cold. THIS one is $1000 and keeps your food cold...' "

The fact is, if we are too lazy (or not smart enough) to identify the difference, the cheapest one always gets purchased. Over time, the good manufacturers are either forced out of business or forced to make junk to fight the low price battle.

BTW, I don't think the loss of critical thinking only applies to products either, but you need to be careful what you say here Smilie
