all state warranty is a scam. I bought a certified refurbished router with 1 year all state warranty. When it broke in 3 months, I contact all state and they said to contact the manufacturer because it is their responsibility to cover the warranty (which is not true, since it was not purchased brand new). so neither all state nor the manufacturer would honor a warranty.

This thing has 2 TB ports? That is impressive. Updates end June 2031.

Because they have an entire virtual machine subsystem built in?

You can easily run multiple distros of Linux or Windows on them while keeping ChromeOS for light duty tasks.

Good thing Plus doesn't offer much then.

You can already run half of what they're offering in a VM.

This plus they will often require either their own service center to determine eligibility or if you take it to a shop, they will cover up to the cost of the product. Unless it's something like a battery issue which can be identified via bios, they will do whatever it takes to claim exclusions or self induced damage. I had a Dell touch screen laptop that started showing these bubbles and they claimed I dropped it.

What's the use case for such a beefy Chromebook? It's a decent config value for the price and I happen to like the build of the Asus Flip line, just curious what people use this much spec power for on a Chromebook?

I've been considering getting a portable (non-touchscreen) display in the $50+ range and running some kind of home lab from a low-spec machine ($150-ish, maybe, no Plex, mostly smart home & NAS/cloud stuff via Linux VMs).

But with the specs on this machine, I'd consider a touch screen a positive addition, especially if it were mounted in an accessible area with a dashboard-style interface. If this were $200, I'd probably buy it. For $300, I'm not sure.

I realize this would be dismissing the portability of this device, but I have a great laptop already.

Yes, though only Windows 11 is supported and you'll have to pay about $30 for the custom audio and thunderbolt drivers.

If the Chrome browser on Chrome OS is anything like it is on Windows you can never have enough RAM, it just keeps using more and more. I have 128gb of RAM, start opening news tabs and windows, and bam all the ram is being used.
