- $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
- $225,000 for heads of households
- $150,000 for all other filers
- The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

There's a pattern with Tesla threads here. I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. So cut that stuff out, please and thank you.

Love the car but hate the price drops after the fact.
I always tell people that because I consider a car being what everyone is used to. Tesla drops the ball here with their overall quality for being priced, and somewhat compared, to similar luxury cars.
As a vehicle, Teslas are freaking awesome. The tech is amazing!!! I love the app, acceleration and overall abilities it possesses. Nothing beats it as a daily driver if it fits your needs.
I have luxury suvs that require premium fuel and drive within the city. Was in need of a new suv and everything that was considered was too pricey new or used. Car market is still not what it used to be and won't be for a while.
You can't beat a Tesla with the instant tax credit and the inventory discount. Bought in January for almost $16k off, $8.2k inventory discount and $7.5k tax credit. New model y long range, 7 seater, blue paint, white interior and tow hitch. $39k before fees and huge down payment with possibly paying it off in a couple years.
I figure that by the time I may need any repairs, Tesla would have improved manufacturing for parts. I work on my vehicles so I'll be fine for most stuff. DIY and independent shops should also be more of an option in about 5yrs for more major repairs. My battery can crap out on me after warranty, 8yr/120k mi, goes out idc. I'll either be on top or break even with the discount I got.
Taking everything into account, it was the smarter buy. I also have public chargers nearby and haven't paid for electricity since I bought it. lol. Even then, it's like $8 for 20-80%

So please don't listen to people who are fanboys. They will go to any exten to justify their poor purchase..
