Tesla is attempting to clear out inventory on existing Model Y. With the instant $7,500 tax credit, this is an up to $12,500 discount on a new Model Y.

Prices seem to be as follows: After the $7,500 credit and new discount, the Model Y RWD starts at $33,890, the Long Range at $37,490, and the range-topping Model Y Performance at $40,690.

Rebates depend on region. In California, discount is up to $7200 for RWD Y.

Ok look...

There's a pattern with Tesla threads here. I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. So cut that stuff out, please and thank you.
This is not as good as the March deal. They are all $1000 more expensive. The other discounts were available most of q1.
FYI just because it says "New" doesn't mean it qualifies for the 7500 tax credit. Demo models are new but do not qualify for 7500. If the specific inventory item qualifies it will directly say it on the site.

Is it still 2023?
that page i linked had topic H added specifically for the 2024 "point of sale" way of taking the credit

it's the same credit with the same requirements, the only diff is that in 2024, you can elect to redeem it at the point of sale if you wanted, you can still wait til tax season and take it just like in 2023. all the other requirements are the same

Just past 5 full yrs and 88k on my March 2019 Model 3 LR RWD (since discontinued). A complete home-run so far. At least $11K in fuel saving savings (under 4 cents/kwh on nite flex program) net of GA special EV tax, at least $3-4k (likely more) in maintenance savings, and only a few hundred in repair costs. The FSD, which cost me $5k, has really improved in the past 2 years and on the cusp of being what was promised. NTSB, if you're reading, please step out of the way!!

Downside is resale value, and I blame Hertz for what should be a temporary matter (and this may be partly why Tesla is having issues moving new inventory), but this car will be handed down due to its reliability should I ever decide to purchase a replacement. I've felt since the beginning that i was buying a care that would last 2 to 4x longer than any other car I've purchased prior. If I lose, or win, the battery lottery and it craps out after the 120k warranty I'll gladly plop down $15k for a replacement battery. Best car ever.
Don't blam Hertz.

I feel that he is trying to kill the competition and it seemed to work.

gps navigation is included at no cost

but showing the traffic visualization is part of premium connectivity

https://www.tesla.com/support/connectivity

Also at no cost is that navigation uses real time traffic data for expected arrival time and appropriate route to avoid traffic. It just wont show you where the traffic is unless you pay. And another decent feature is maps are updated for free over the air.

A long time Elon and Tesla hater, these are pretty good deals, especially adding $7,500 EV credit. I know it was a little bit cheaper previously, but as of now is the best you can buy for a brand new unit. There are currently two things holding me back from pulling a trigger on a Y model. I don't own a house, this is a dealbreaker for me (not being able to charge it at home is a problem). Another issue, hate the minimalist, cheap interior design. But I am sure at this point the software and the powertrain/battery are perhaps the best in biz.

The subscription is for satellite images for your GPS, as well as a few other things that require high speed cell internet. Standard internet is included, which will show you regular drawn maps.
But if you use the hotspot... it still does not give you satellite images... point is... it is a $100/yr grab for your cash which I really don't like.

I would be most worried about the cost of insurance.
It went up about $400/year. But my old car was worth a lot less and I am over 50.

To me the cost of tires worry me... but really, the savings outweigh the additional cost.

My wife gets free charging at work... was paying $100/week.

This "deal" and all the upvotes for a price *increase* is just bizarre. Also no longer offering the free supercharging that they were offering before. Not sure why I even spend any time on this site any more.

There is something you are not telling us. What is the millage?

I know of to many people who own Tesla's for over two years and they have yet to have one problem.
My mileage is only at 16,800 and my battery warranty was refused on my 2022 Tesla Model Y They claim there is slight damage under the car that impacts the battery case. But I never hit anything. I only had snow tires put on it because after a few weeks of buying I was stuck in my driveway after 5-6 inches of snow. I live in the city in Ohio and drove like a Corvette in the snow. 😅😅

It is a good idea to stick to the obvious violations, but if a post goes too far off topic it will usually get an annoyed response. And there are many well thought out posts that have to be removed because they include an insult. It can seem like we're being one-sided since you might not notice everything that is removed, but contrary to rumors the mod team is not nearing retirement due to having calls/puts on TSLA. Hopefully everyone can keep in mind how much they have in common with fellow SDers despite their car choice, and try to keep any debate friendly

Prices went up $1000 the day before this was posted and the algo pumps it to the FP. Lol

The coordinated media coverage the last 4-5 months is all about one thing.....crushing options sellers and getting their shares cheap.

Should reverse now that they somehow bottomed this thing out at a PE < 40. Absurd the SEC just sits on their hands and watches this over and over.

Every friend of mine that owns a Tesla absolutely loves it & they rave about how great it is all the timeWink Like it or not EV's are the future & you'd think everyone would love saving tons of money on gas with top notch tech, but we live amongst absolute morons embarrassing America daily!

I will be sure to contact you the next time I purchase something since apparently we should all have the same opinion of things and buy the things that you buy, lest we be called morons. Sorry that some of still aren't doing as we are told to do, but we will all fall into place so. and do as good animals are told to do. All animals are equal, just some more equal than others.

What if, just maybe, some of us don't see this as a good value right now and aren't willing to part with our hard earned cash on this deal? I don't jump on every deal posted on here. Maybe instead I'll look into how the used ones are and buy one of those instead, which is actually better for the environment. Buying used things is actually very good for the environment, I've purchased many used vehicles in fact.

Don't need to worry, the tire stuff is bro-guess crap. I have a 2018 model 3, 28k miles and still on its first set of tires. Tesla mobile service was here for something else, but checked the tires anyway. No problem, 50% tread life left.

I expect similar results on Model Y. If you constantly accelerate and brake hard, ymmv.
