Ok look...

There's a pattern with Tesla threads here. I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. This is not as good as the March deal. They are all $1000 more expensive. The other discounts were available most of q1.

FYI just because it says "New" doesn't mean it qualifies for the 7500 tax credit. Demo models are new but do not qualify for 7500. If the specific inventory item qualifies it will directly say it on the site.

I only rent a house and don't really want to unplug drier to charge this fast mode. How bad is it to charge using regular 120v?

Hard to buy these when they lose value so fast. When the new battery comes out no one will want them anymore.

If I have 7500 in fed taxes and already paid 7500 through my paycheck witholding, then do I get a refund of 7500 if I qualify for the tax credit?

You'll get about 3 miles of range per hour charging on a 120V/15A. Unless you have convenient, reliable, and long-term access to a level 2 charger I'd go ICE.

It will vary, but you can expect around +3-6 miles per hour of charge. I was down to about 39% and it took just under 24 hours to get back to 80%. If I'm above 70% at the end of the day, scheduled charging at 11pm has me back at 80% by the morning, usually.

That was kind of my thinking too. I would only use this for like 20 to 30 miles a day max. Just trickle charge daily. If one day i do drive more I can just find a spot to supercharge, but I'm still slightly reluctant. Thanks for info.

None of that matters. At all. As has been covered like 12 times today alone in the thread.

Are you under the max income cap? If so you can get $7500 at point of sale off the car.

FYI they make plugs to split use of the dryer socket, they're a few hundred bucks-- so if you only drive 20-30 miles a day you don't need it, a 120V will be fine... but worth knowing they exist.

Based on what, past price drops? What does higher pricing in the past matter if you're looking to buy right now? Do you think pricing will fall more than it already has now? It's at bottom. I paid $27,090 for my model 3 in December and on top of that I save $2500/yr just in fuel from just minor amounts of driving with as close to zero maintenance as it gets. This is savings on fuel I was already paying for not even considering hundreds to thousands in maintenance a year. Depreciation on a $27k car wont top that and I am driving a phenomenal vehicle in the meantime

And wasn't the Model Y roughly the current price when it released? My understanding was that the Model Y price was substantially increased during the pandemic due to supply/chip constraints, and was then lowered back down to its original price. I haven't noticed any atypical depreciation outside of those who bought a Model Y at the worst possible time, during an extreme industry supply crunch.

Correct, and the fact that we just went through a period of unprecedented price increases between 2020-2022 always gets "conveniently" overlooked when depreciation is considered. The depreciation from the past few years is in no way indicative of what you will see on current prices; it's just not the same scenario.

Yes, you can transfer to another new car only 1 time. So, you put a deposit down, the car has issues the factory QC missed ( it happens) and you can transfer the $250 a different car one more time only.

What I did was to print the Tesla delivery inspection checklist ( a few online and I'll include one) and inspect the car during the daylight hours. Spend at least 1+ hr inspecting the car for any issues top to bottom.. While you have 7 days /100 miles to report defects or things to be fixed, I like to personally do it before taking delivery of the car. Print the list, take a flashlight and really inspect the car. I did it and the Tesla people were cool about it. It's a big purchase and I'd see other buyers doing the same thing. Tesla is great about fixing issues noted at delivery (at least that's my experience) but best to find any issues at delivery and not the next day at home. https://www.accessoriesfortesla.c...klist-2021

Awesome cars, been driving electric for 4 years, Tesla for 3 years. You hear all kinds of weird stuff online but anyone I've taken on a ride in my car says essentially the same thing "wow that's a lot better than I expected it to be", and most of them either buy one shortly after or are currently considering it. Just some 2cents, very very good cars and extremely reliable.
