Golden Week is 29 April to May 5th. Avoid that week if you don't want to end up seeing things closed during your travel.

I flew with them in February and thought was a good low cost experience. They do weight your bags (7kg allowance) but plane was new and service was great and punctual. Check in is only at the counter in the airport. Paid $10 for food and was better than the any US based airline on the flight from Tokyo to LAX but the 7/11 on the airport there had also sushi for $6 that was even better. All in all was great.

I flew with them in February and thought was a good low cost experience. They do weight your bags (7kg allowance) but plane was new and service was great and punctual. There were a couple other periods in April that were as low as $398 but I missed them so booked that Golden week, but didn't realize it will be busiest travel week of year til your post, so just cancelled my tix. Thanks for the heads up!

$10 for all the food (2 meals and a snack on regular flight, I think) during the flight from the US to Tokyo?

EDIT: After I wrote the comment above, I read the OP throughly and realized one meal is $11 which I think is very decent price for the hot meal Japanese airlines usually serve on the flight to Japan.

Another question for you. Did you only buy one meal on the 10+ long hour flight to Japan?

I've gone to Japan in 2022, 2023, and would LOVE to go again this year. That is indeed a great price but I'll have to wait until next year…hopefully winter to attend WonFes 2025.

Can also be really cheap like me and bring your own instant ramen bowl. They've always been happy to fill it up with hot water for me

I have a ticket in May and the price has dropped $100 since I purchased. I guess there is no adjustment after the fact is there if the price is lower now?

yep, May tournament is in Tokyo.

Too bad we won't have a repeat of March's high excitement and historic tournament with Takerufuji winning the yusho. nod Maybe big Teru will be back for May(I personally doubt it).

By the way it looks like SJC to NRT also dropped in price, it's roughly $647pp Round Trip with the value package
