can you choose tmobile or verizon network? how?
Yes you can choose the network. They send you sim cards for each network.

I have this plan. No complaints, but 1Gb gets chewed up quickly. Make sure to disable cellular data usage on non-essential apps.

Does US Mobile have better data prioritization than Tracfone?
Yes, US Mobile is one of the only Verizon MVNOs with priority data

Turn on data saver mode on your phone and use an adblocking DNS such as NextDNS or Adguard DNS, and you'll be amazed how long 1GB lasts (excluding any streaming of course).

You can order the SIM kit for free, then hold it and activate this plan with it anytime you choose. So when your 3 months are up you can switch over immediately, and pay for and start your US Mobile plan then. Having the free SIM card ahead of time makes the transition as seamless as possible.

I used up my two gig, browsing Internet for about an hour or so one night in one month. Didn't do that again and never had a problem. I've been disabling cellular for some apps over time, but pretty sure it was just that one time that chewed it up. Can't imagine 1gb

autoplay video ads are the main culprit. They can eat up so much data just reading news articles. Gotta use adblocker.

I switched to this plan a while back since I rarely use data on my phone. I'm a happy customer.

The SIM card kit that they send you has two SIM cards inside. One is white and one is black or navy blue. The white one will put you on the T-Mobile network and the dark one will put you on Verizon. I've been using US mobile with the Verizon network for 9 months now and I'm very happy. If you run out of data during the month, you can just go on the website and buy more data at reasonable prices.

I would like to add that when I did need technical support, I got much more competent people by calling their phone number rather than using their online chat function. The difference is like night and day.

This deal is 1GB monthly 5G data but "unlimited". What's the speed after the 1GB us used up? I'm trying to find but not easy.
Only thing I can find is "your speeds will be slowed until the next billing cycle." Ok, so at what speed? Want to know if still somewhat usable. Makes a big difference if I go with them or not.
This makes is sound like 1 Mbps is the Standard or slowest speed:
https://www.usmobile.com/blog/us-...ds-manual/

On Reddit I saw someone post it's .5 Mbps. But still not for sure what the slower data speed is yet.

I would like to know as well. I tried their 100 day trial a year ago and didn't like the fact that after using up my data, it capped and stopped. I'm surprised this one slows down.

This is not a new deal. They've had this light plan for ages at this price
Agree, this is old news. Surprised it is getting traction now. It came out just when I was going to put my dad on the previous version of the light plan, which was much better for his needs because you paid monthly and it was only $5.
