valuable info on activation and number porting
This brings up an interesting possibility for me.

I have a Vonage phone line which I have been itching to get rid of but don't want to lose its phone number. Is it possible to port the Vonage number over into this plan? And then forward this number from US Mobile to one of my T-Mobile lines?

Porting your Vonage number into this plan should be no problem as long as it's a bona fide mobile number and not tagged as a landline, assuming no interference from Vonage. It's possible that your Vonage number may be part of a block of numbers that they "own" for issuance with their service, in which case you'd be out of luck. Forwarding calls is a function you may have to discuss with US Mobile's customer service. I don't forward calls personally so I'm a bit ignorant on that part of it.

Is data cutoff at 1gb or just crazy slow?

This is better than the current By-the-gig plan with Xfinity for 2 lines, especially now that Xfinity raised it by $5. Can't wait until the phone contracts with them are finished.

In the meantime, I'm rocking the $5/month plan with Helium.

I have the plan with 2 GB of data for $10 a month. This is month to month. Also if I go over the 2 GB of data I will automatically get another 1 GB for $2. The extra 1 GB if not all used will transfer to the following month. FAIK there is data priority.

This one is better. Tracfone is annual. This one is monthly. If you accidentally use up all your data, you're hosed for the rest of the year. With this one, it's less than 30 days. Doesn't have slow data from what I can tell, that some other plans or companies provide, which is halfway helpful.
Tracfone plans can be topped off. It's not cost effective.

But, if you might accidentally use 24GB....your usage is probably very high and you probably don't want a 1GB/month plan.

Yes, please confirm. This is pretty significant if data completely turns off

data completely turns off after 1gb. You would need to buy more add-on.
it's one of the reason I'm still paying for mint mobile $15/mo.

I'm a US Mobile customer now for about a year. Fantastic service, they are adding AT&T soon so that covers the major carriers completely. Recently switched to the $15/month 10GB plan. Can't recommend these folks enough.

This deal is 1GB monthly 5G data but "unlimited". What's the speed after the 1GB us used up? I'm trying to find but not easy.
Only thing I can find is "your speeds will be slowed until the next billing cycle." Ok, so at what speed? Want to know if still somewhat usable. Makes a big difference if I go with them or not.
This makes is sound like 1 Mbps is the Standard or slowest speed:
https://www.usmobile.com/blog/us-...ds-manual/ [usmobile.com]

On Reddit I saw someone post it's .5 Mbps. But still not for sure what the slower data speed is yet.
The light plan is NOT unlimited. This is a HARD CAP. 1GB and that's it.

USM isn't the cheapest but I'm pretty satisfied with their CS.

There are plenty of cheap MVNO and you can compare them on this site.

They have a sharable 2GB plan for $10. But it's also a hard cap. Not unlimited and no throttle.
The cheapest unlimited is the $15/month 10GB Unlimited Flex plan but you have to buy the annual plan.

This is a good site to compare cheap MVNOs.
