The MyAsus software is preset to reduce the display's frequency to 60 Hz in battery mode, which is also why we used these results for our comparisons. The 75-Wh battery enables good runtimes, as we measured almost 12 hours (10 hours at 120 Hz) during the WLAN test at 150 cd/m² (corresponds to 71% of the laptop's maximum SDR brightness) and still just under 9 hours (~7 hours at 120 Hz) at full brightness. Similar to other reviews of Meteor Lake devices, its video runtime at 150 cd/m² was particularly good, coming in at just under 17 hours. Even the MacBook Air M2 was beaten here (although its battery is also smaller).

$700 M1 gets 10 hr, 14 hr in low. Only 8/256
He has the 3k resolution one and said he got about 5-6 hours of usage.
YMMV of course based on actual brightness uses (most will do 50%) and plays video to test the battery life.
Seems to be 600 bright nits which is awesome
Single Core even the M1 has better geekbench, Multicore M1 is slower but it's also 4 years old processor
Multi-core M2 smokes this for sure when you get into a 10-core pro chip
M3...don't even bother, not in the same league. pro and max absolutely kills this thing.
Also everyone needs to recognize the OS and software is different so the "real world" testing is often different beyond the typical benchmarks. for a 2024 Processor, it's pretty shitty and unable to compete with 2024 Apple Silicon chips in all aspects.
Overall comparison, It's a nice Windows machine though, priced right with good screen, memory and disk over the M1 Air (the original machine mentioned). Regular price of $1049 is nice already. Much cheaper than a Dell.
Intel's trying but still has a lot of ways to go. I hope Snapdragon X really shines and light a fire under Inte's ass to do something better. Also push Microsoft to have better ARM64 support so we can enjoy long battery like finally on Windows and processing power without having to plug in

Not the original poster but I assume this is what he meant on the comparison. I wouldn't say "smoke" but single core is faster.

But you're right -- the M1 is an older chip and this is Intel's newest. But if you don't want macOS, this is great compared to older Intel CPU's.

and single core ultra so its' easier to see what the score is and how small the deficit is
Anyway, all good. My other post I wrote more data points on why this Intel is decent but I do think Intel is still way behind on chip tech

I have a Dell 7440 top spec and it kinda sucks compared to this Zen (I do have higher resolution touch screen) which I do like but if someone can live with 1080p, this Zen is very nice.
