We've had this a few years. Pro: The only reason you know it's running is the blue light and when water drains through sink. It is so quiet.
Cons: sometimes the jet sticks, the top spinner fell out, everything should be rinsed before washing. So sadly, STAY AWAY!

Get a Bosch. 800 series if possible.
Went to buy a Samsung or LG years ago and the sales agent literally said they were junk.

been using the Bosch for 3 years now without issue.
Take what they say with a grain of salt, though. I cannot really chime in on whether Samsung is good. I can, however, state that lots of stores push certain products at certain times and offer incentives/spiffs.

This seems to be the going rate for install. So, get one that cost $1k, then your install price will only be 1/4th the dishwasher Wink
Don't forget to buy more appliances so any savings percentages get you larger dollar amounts in savings! Why save only $500 when you could be saving $1,000

Bought this dishwasher in Feb 2022 and loved it until it died yesterday. Only a 1 year warranty, so we'll have to pay to fix it. It's $275 for a new board, so maybe time to buy another dishwasher
The problem is these top controller dishwashers. The board is exposed to too much moisture with this design. I stopped buying these, after replacing two of them in quick succession.

As a Samsung appliance owner for about 7 years, they're definitely not without a decent amount of flaws and problems. But all of the items (fridge/DW/Stove/microwave/dryer and washer) all still work to this day. We bought them because they were beautiful and had a lot of features and we assumed Samsung made a quality product. I can't say we've had any deal breaker issues other than maybe the stupid "sink" part of the sink washer breaking off and not being replaceable apart from buying a $300 new lid. But we had several service calls right before the warranties end and the dishwasher in particular has required several "hack" fixes of my own due to a terrible design of paper thin steel holding the gasket in around the opening. There are a litany of common issues for most samsung models. Since in most kitchens you don't see the dishwasher next to other appliances I would shoot for a bosch as they appear to be the only really good/reliable brand in that space. I don't think people love GE but I had way better luck with my previous GE appliances than the samsung set we have now.

They Been caught doing that for years .. definitely possible
It's called planned obsolescence, and they know what part is likely to fail when. With 3D printing, if we can 3D print metal, we could identify the part that's likely to fail and third parties could create a replacement. The only thing is that they know and make sure that what fails is the electrical board. They know that it is more expensive to replace it than to buy a new one, so if we can get a third party able to create replacement boards, maybe we can get past these planned obsolescence...

of course if they are planning and placing the electrical boards where they will get moist, you would have to create a very robust waterproof water resistant corrosion resistant board, in order to succeed.

After a few years of keeping track of dish washer deals, it seems like Bosch is the only top tier brand
I just had my Bosch installed last week (replaced an older GE) and it's great. I will warn you though to bring a couple of your plates to place in a demo unit to make sure they fit well.

My DW is more than 23 yo. It's a GE when GE was still making them and still making them in the USA (FWIW). I bought it at a garage sale and installed it myself (very simple). The pump finally died last yr. and I replaced it. Again, easy DIY. Considering how little there is to any DW, I'm astounded at what people are willing to pay for the things. Anyhow, there are a number of people in the appliance repair/reselling business who post very good YT videos on selecting specific products, often by model numbers. If you're in the market and don't check them out, you are much more likely to become victims and perhaps parties to class action suits against large appliance makers!! Oh, my fridge just turned 40 yo and still functioning well. Dryer is about 54 yo. I think that modern appliances with circuit boards should be connected to circuits with surge suppressors.

Avoid, avoid, AVOID.

I bought a house with 3 year old Samsung appliances. Dishwasher basically stopped cleaning anything, fridge needed an ice maker replacement, and the stove clock constantly blinks.

Replaced the dishwasher with a KitchenAid and have been very happy so far. Just stay far away from Samsung appliances, they aren't worth the hassle.

I see a lot of people mentioning Bosch. We were down to the Bosch and the Kitchenaid. We went with KitchenAid because Bosch has serious issues with their junction boxes being a fire hazard, and the KitchenAid design made much more sense than the Bosch. Hopefully longevity is just as good.

I bought a Cafe dishwasher about two years ago. Control board died at 11 months. Got it fixed under the one year warranty and repair guy said it is a very common part that fails. He left me the old board and the box to the new one. Saw that it is a $70 part, I will fix myself next time, it is just a bunch of screws and a couple molex type wire connectors. Glad I bought a floor model, got a higher end unit for less than half the regular price. Not crazy about the time remaining display being hidden like most are these days... hidden buttons look sleek but the display should be in plain sight. I can see it but just barely through the gap. Also, 2 hours 8 minutes seems a little long for a "normal" wash. Oh yeah, other odd complaint, the bottom shelf has to be slid in very slowly or the dishes slide all over the place LOL.

I wash my dishes with sponge and dish soap. You don't need this. I even cut my own grass using a push lawn mower, about 0.5 acre.

Good for me?

How is the heat/dry cycle on these? That's my biggest pet peeve with my current Whirlpool dishwasher, there is still a ton of water/moisture when its done i still have to try, even if I open it afterwards.

Samsung TVs - yes.
Samsung appliances - RUN AWAY

We outfitted our entire kitchen with Samsung. Everything had/has issues. Don't do it.

Here's a Whirlpool for the same price:

fwiw, that whirlpool does not have a stainless steel tub (it only has a stainless steel interior of the door, while the samsung in this thread has a SS tub. that's a big feature for a lot of people. not really saying it should compel someone to buy a samsung dishwasher but just that the feature set isn't the same on the linked whirlpool
