This company, man oh man. The app is a nightmare. It used to be good. They killed the old app and transitioned me over to the new app Been working with customer support for over a month trying to get it ported over and it's still not working. Really wishing I could swap this thing out with any other brand.

Thank you for your feedback! Is app the only concern you have or the charger itself may also have issues? I am debating between Juicebox and Emporia as both have the same price. Thanks!

Have this exact charger. I agree, the new app is terrible. Although I haven't had that level of problems.

I have a lot of experience with this company and product.
They changed design over 3x so far.
Current product is gray plastic.
Used to be a black metal box.
They used to be better when it was eMotorwerks, and then a German energy company Enel X, acquired them, and then it went downhill fast.
Installed and managed over a dozen the past 5+ years.
And have over 7 Fedex warranty exhange airbills in my drawer.
Seems they don't test them before shipping them.
Unlike consumer electronics, this frequent failure can be quite costly, since often you need to arrange, schedule, pay an electrician, each time you need to install, replace, troubleshoot the JuiceBox, and/or the 220V outlet and breaker, to determine where the problem is.
And then they will RMA you a different shaped unit, and so you need to patch, and drill all new mounting holes, which can be a problem if you are particular to how clean the installation needs to look. Repainting.
We no longer have Enel X JuiceBox in our purchase list when we do EV installs.
Not just the app is buggy, as posted, but its wifi is flaky.
The worst part, is that its unreliable, and will go bad in many different ways.
It will just stop working, suddenly.
Then you lookup the 5 beeps, flashing LEDs
And most often, its the relay inside gone bad.
Support tells you to get a mallet and whack the right side.
Wow.
This is how you instantly know.
You made a wrong purchase.
There's even a former employee selling replacement DIY repair relays online to help out folks with warranty denial.
And the charging cord is a poor quality supplier.
It starts showing bumps, swelling, and then the insulation splits open, and you can see the bare copper, and green shielding inside.
You can't just electrical tape this, although we've tried.
Pretty scary, when you're dealing with 220V.
Water intrusion. So much for their IP outdoor rating.
And they really dont even track their products.
They dont want to. So as to avoid warranty claims.
To claim warranty, they will not just accept the info on the label on the unit.
They keep asking for email address, or order # or some other warranty claim avoidance tactic.
You would think that since its wifi, and app connected, they would know exactly who, when, where.
And then after multiple back and forth, they will tell you that the 3 year warranty is past.
Because they count from when you first connected it to wifi. so they do see it online but won't honor warranty.
Even if it was $199, I would have to think long and hard.
My users were pretty upset when they had to go find public charging when it went down, again, and again.
It makes me look bad.
My reputation is my livelihood.

what kind of EVs will you be charging?
home? garage? indoors?
that is important when selecting an EVSE
I've bought four different chargers for myself, friends, and family- I've found that the more basic you go, the better they are. I would recommend a dumb charger, something that doesn't support a wifi connection or any extra garbage like that- your car will have a schedule you can program for charging. I think that something similar to this would work well, though I have no experience with this one specifically: https://www.ebay.com/itm/266738281231
The specs you're looking for are that it supports up to 40amps, which will actually charge at 32A generally speaking, and I personally would get a plug in style as they're "portable", vs a hardwired version. The plug in style will always be that bigger 14-50 plug, like a dryer- if you see a plug in that's for a regular wall outlet, it's no good- there are some weird, misleading chargers that claim to be level 1 & 2, but are just a 120v connection and will not provide a good experience. Example below of what NOT to buy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/166207242632

Nice call! They just went out of business.
Now I can only rely on Costco taking it back if there's any warranty issue.
