Nitro golf balls are pretty low end, but it hasn't stopped me from buying them. I'm not on tour and don't play for money, so never felt the need to spend a lot of money on golf balls.
Kirkland are far superior in my opinion. Not sure if they have more spin or what the science behind it is. Nitros are decent but they seem to get destroyed a lot easier than most balls. They seem to have a shitty roll on the green as well. The kirkland balls are probably the best bang/buck. Also the wilson chaos are regularly a little under a doller per ball on amazon. I would use Kirkland > Wilson > Nitro as far as performance is concerned.
I second this comment. I tend to go for balls with lower compression ratings and lower spin for my game and I feel they've helped, especially off the tee. I read somewhere Kirkland balls have a slightly higher spin.

However, for those who are in the above situation but want to continue improving and are in the headspace to better their game, experiment with different balls based on known facts like swing speed & feel preference could help. On top that that, you can find plenty of different kind of balls (profile-wise) for the same $.75/ball or so cost as a Nitro from sites like lostgolfballs. com, but actually use it to your advantage to learn your game and experiment.
Avid golfer here and also agree with the sentiment that V1s are simply the best, Kirklands are best bang for buck, non-urethanes are all pretty similar. The other difference is something like a soft feel with a low (30) compression if you play when its cold or have a slow swing speed. These little ball differences do bring about a different golf game, even to noobs.
If you like that ball, getting AAAAA balls from used golfball sites like the Bridgestone E6, Callaway Supersoft, etc. are comparable balls for the $1/ball pricetag. Advantage here is they don't come with the stigma.
