Jackenbackers are 10/10 for playability, this is a great bass.

The only change using an active instrument is you have to unplug the 1/4" audio cable when you're done playing. The jack is the off switch, and it only uses battery while it's plugged in.

Even if you forget once or twice, the battery lasts for days and days of continuous use. I've never had a battery run out in the middle of practicing or playing out. Just keep a spare 9V in your gig bag and change it once every year or two. You can do the tongue test on the battery in your bass to see if it's getting low before a gig if you're really worried.

I like active EQ on basses because standing right in front of and above the amp doesn't tell you what you sound like in the room. Active EQ lets you adjust your sound from out in front, where you can hear it. You'll often find that what sounds great standing over your amp is a woofy mess in the room.

It's absolutely eye-melting in person. It looks like a fade in the pictures, but in reality it's straight-up glossy traffic cone neon orange.

It's a weird mutt of influences that somehow works. The pickguard, bridge, and pickup cover say Ric, but it's got a P-shaped body with belly cut and arm bevel, PJ pickups, active 9V preamp with 3-band EQ, and a pointy Jackson headstock.

There is also a white version, a matte army green version, and a sunburst version that looks even more like a Ric, but none of those are on sale.

The headstock ruins it for me.

4 string in black for the same price here: https://reverb.com/item/75658491-...loss-black
Looks like the sale has some other decent deals on guitars and basses including some Sadowsky Jazz and P basses in the same price range as these Jacksons:

As someone who realized a long time ago that I can probably never afford a Rickenbacker, this looks amazing. But active electronics scare me lol

OP here. Let me clear up the deal, since it got rewritten by staff. (No hate, they made it frontpage!) These are new guitars that come in the original box. I suspect they're sold as "Used - Mint" because $320 is under MAP.

You can get the 5-string in black only:
https://reverb.com/item/75658645-...itar-black
You can get the 4-string in "red" (traffic cone orange):
https://reverb.com/item/75658811-jackson-x-series-cbxnt-dx-iv-bass-guitar-rocket-red [reverb.com]
Or the 4-string in black:
https://reverb.com/item/75658491-...loss-black
They have the 4-string in white, but it's $400.

There are a lot of other solid deals, though I think the CBXNT is the best.
Spectra Bass IV, Army Drab or Black $319.20 ($500 at Sweetwater)
https://reverb.com/item/75658563-...-army-drab
https://reverb.com/item/75658692-...itar-black
Dinky Modern Ash HT7 $936 ($1300+ anywhere that still has one)
https://reverb.com/item/79388961-...e-00669-sr

If someone who knows more about the other brands they carry can go through the Franklin Guitar Works sale pages and point out other great deals, I'm sure we've all got some rep waiting for you!
