Definately buy if you are loyal to Dymatize isolate (which many are).

I would strongly recommend the vanilla in terms of value - it has a greater percentage of product that is actually protein and a lower cost per gram of protein. Only the vanilla gets to a price range of the less expensive brands of isolate.
You're gonna be a skeleton waiting for that, those days have unfortunately left us.
Good luck. The lowest price ever for this was $51.97 back in Jan 03, 2020

Isolate is simply a purer form of protein powder. Less carbs, less fats, less lactose. I personally try to limit my lactose intake because I've read it's linked to increased risks of colon cancer but that's an entirely different conversation.

Additionally, this is hydrolyzed so theoretically it should be the best when it comes to digestion and absorption.

There's nothing wrong with whey concentrate. I used ON Gold Standard for many years and with good results but I'm at a point now where I am more conscious of what I consume on a daily basis.
More conscious? This has sucralose as well as soy in it.

Geno-toxic. Have fun with that.

This is just panic-mongering.

If you take gut cells out of the human body, and swim them in concentrations of sucralose manufacturing impurities, in far higher concentrations than could possibly exist inside your body (or even in full-strength commercial sucralose), outside the normal digestive system, bad things happen to those cells.

That says absolutely nothing about what happens in the human body, when swallowed, in normal concentrations. Given that Sucralose has been out on the market for decades and there aren't folks dropping dead from it, I'd call it pretty safe.

I'd rather take my chances with the sucralose than more sugar, especially since I've had T2 diabetes and reversed it with a reduced-carb diet. T2 is not awesome.

Thanks for the concern but I would rather have sucralose in my shake than sugar. Also, just about every single protein powder on the market contains sucralose. But this one is without a doubt higher quality than the vast majority of products out there and that is why I like it.

No one is telling you what to eat or not eat. I'm responding to a post about being conscious about what you're putting in your body. Some people would probably like to know that sucralose isn't something good to put in your body. Don't take it so personally.

Yeah, it's higher quality than 99% of the proteins I've seen posted on here. That said, sucralose isn't a benign thing (just like most chemicals) so people should be aware of that. I also don't like eating sugar. Everything in the US has all sorts of sugar or chemicals in it. Part of the purposeful way to make us all fat and unhealthy.

Except for the unflavored right? From the unflavored you get to choose if/how you sweeten, and for that matter it's a blank slate for flavor.

I don't think Dynamize sells an unflavored version of this.

Probably because the flavoring is cheaper than the isolate, and they would have to think of another filler to keep the cost per pound of powder down.

Sorry was generalizing about isolate. I wish D had unflavored.

I'm still working my way through a 5lb tub of this slop. Unless you REALLY like fruity pebbles avoid this. The taste is so artificially sweet I'll never get it again.

Thanks for the warning. I'll try the 2lbs first to make sure I actually like it.

The Fruity Pebbles flavor is actually good, pretty reminiscent of the real thing. Very different from the Six Star Fruit Loops flavor, which tastes nothing like Fruit Loops, more like the old orange children's chewable aspirin - made it about 2 gulps into that garbage.

My apologies if that came off as hostile - it was, but was meant to be directed at WebMD for publishing that crap, not at you.

It's not a helpful article. Make people scared of sucralose (an unproven, but possible harm). They will most likely sugar, which is a proven harm - a major contributing factor to this country's epidemic of insulin insensitivity and obesity.

If you carefully analyze all the chemicals in everything you eat, almost everything is going to have some sort of harmful compound, even whole, natural foods. Fortunately, humans are well adapted as omnivores, and can survive/recover from the vast majority of them without any issue.

Except there are alternatives besides sucralose and sugar. So I guess you're right if you're arguing in a vaccum, which isn't the case here. There's stevia, monk fruit, all sorts of things that are also sweeteners. If sucralose is the difference between eating healthy (protein shakes, etc) vs not eating healthy (some nasty unhealthy food), by all means, use sucralose.

Again, the point is to put the information out there so people can make an informed decision on their health and it shouldn't be assumed that chemical additions to foods are "healthy" in any sense of the the word.
