Absolutely bonkers if I try to book a flight from MIA to STX it's >$800 for the same flight. If I book the flight from JFK through MIA, it's the same flight numbers, but more than 2/3 off.

I could probably do it on the way back (just "miss" the connecting flight), but I don't think I could make it work on the flight from JFK -> MIA (and MIA -> STX) since I'd be considered a no-show on leg 1.
