I've owned both and used both quite a bit. They are both really great and I have no issues using either. Buttons and sticks are wonderful all around no matter which you use.

It's literally what you'd expect when comparing the two: one is slightly larger but slightly more comfortable. One is slightly smaller and slightly less comfortable.

The larger one didn't fit in any normal switch case for me, so I went to the smaller one. I definitely prefer the larger one's comfort but not enough to sacrifice the size and portability.

So whatever is more important to you you should go with. I doubt even if you choose the "wrong one" for you, you're not even going to be upset enough to know that you did 😂

Lacks gyro, rumble, battery and NFC. At this price point though, it's a justifiable sacrifice compared to joy cons.

My son and I like these wayyy better than joy con for travel. When docked, we use pro controllers. I literally sold my joy cons. No use for them with these and 3 pro controllers

I'll stick with the original. No need to upgrade if it isn't an improvement in comfort

It's not really. Only get it if you need it to be smaller

Yes, they fit both the original (LCD) model and the newer OLED Switch.

I use these whenever I play my Switch in handheld mode as I find the compact pad much more comfortable and reliable than the standard joycons. My kids don't really care either way, but it's inconvenient when they wants to use joycons for motion control (Super Mario Party, Just Dance, etc.) and have to get them out of the cabinet and charge them first, so unless I'm actively playing in handheld mode, I leave the stock joycons attached.

Hori controllers may not have built-in battery (handheld mode only) and gyro functions, so be careful if you play FPS or 3D games.

These were a little uncomfortable for my large hands but it's a very nice controller and I prefer to use these or the large version over the Joycons.
