RC Tycoon 3 Complete Edition was given out for free on Epic. Just a reminder to check your libraries, because I've made the mistake of purchasing something I already had.
If anyone knows about assembly programming and how painstaking writing even simple programs are - imagine writing an entire game - by yourself in x86. The first two games in the series are one of the greatest achievements in game-programming history, if not the greatest. The creator of those games basically wrote mnemonic machine code (one step above 0s and 1s) for the entire game - something that to my knowledge has never been done since.
For those looking to jump into Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2, OpenRCT2 is a free piece of software that will drastically improve the experience. You just need to own and install Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 to use it. (If you also own and install Roller Coaster Tycoon 1, you can play through those scenarios in OpenRCT2 as well.)

Like someone mentioned before in this thread, if you wanted to get back into 1 and 2, make sure to download OpenRCT2. There is a very helpful tutorial on youtube on how to get set up. It pretty much mergers both 1 and 2 into 1 package, and makes the game playable on standard machines with higher resolutions.
Without it, I read the games are unplayable, so just be mindful this extra step is likely needed. But takes 5 minutes to set up.

Yeah what he said. Openrct2 is the way to go. Even has frickin multiplayer.
Epic wonderful games.
Which of the Tycoon games are recommended? Is buying the whole bundle for $10 worth it?

Honestly I would just get deluxe and two the triple thrill pack. The other games are decent, but you'll probably spend most of your time playing the first two using open rct2
World and 3 are usually on sale pretty frequently. so if you don't grab them now, don't worry too much about it because you'll be able to again soon. but they're not as good as the first two games in my opinion

I was on the fence to get them all, but read the reviews from the more recent ones and they aren't made by the same developer as 1 and 2. (Chris Sawyer Productions). Atari published the games, even after this developer, but developer changed hands. After reading the reviews on some of the others included in the bigger bundle, read consistent crashing and the developers have not done anything about it. So in my eyes, just sticking to 1 and 2 is enough. Tons and tons of content in just these 2 alone.
FYI: you can do a separate bundle for 1 and 2 as is, just scroll down some and you should see it. I saved maybe 10% on top of the already on sale price, ended up paying just under 4 bucks for the 2 classics and it runs flawlessly so far. Hope that helps!

Totally agree with you here, Deluxe and 2 are the way to go. (and I stated in my last comment I saved about 10% when getting the bundle, it's actually 20%, not a ton at the end of the day, but makes the value even better)

Thanks, I just did that and you're right, same for me. But epic website from my phone is a pain in the ass to find the library. I had to search for the game and it said it's already in my library.

I remember as a kid/young adult typing in a complete game called Richtofen's revenge. I think it was assembly. It was in a magazine and was a flying plane shoot'em up. The Red Baron was Richtofen.

Does OpenRCT2 make Classic a pointless purchase?

Classic is inferior to OpenRCT2. I definitely do not recommend grabbing that.
