People sometimes are locked into a brand due to lens. You buy what your lens collection is compatible to. Plus, Sony does have the best noise absence in the images.
Wait for the Canon R5 II. It will destroy this camera.
Outside of a Global Shutter with a high rez sensor - it is pretty much impossible to blow a camera like this out of the water for anyone doing real world shooting.
Most professionals got by with a whole lot less for many years.
This price is a new floor; let the competition benefit the consumer.
Started with Panny, moved to all GM's on A7 IV. Canon's lenses are too expensive.
Just can't convince myself the this is that much better...half way to an A1 used.
Indeed, unless Cannon opens it up to 3rd party glass - it is a suckers game.
Sony GM stuff is great, but there are also other options on the market for the system that produce outstanding results. The Tamron 35-150 2.0 - 2.8 as an example of something pretty unique.
I also have an A7iv and don't feel the need for anything "better" outside of getting in camera focus stacking.

Sometimes they will match it but not all the time. They rejected my price match edu discount for Panasonic S5 II when it was $1298 on Adorama. I wanted to pricematch to B&H since I have payboo card that covers the tax.
Sony fanboys lol. I use Sony so I'm not a hater but Sony Fanboys are obnoxious.
Not quite as obnoxious as Canon fanboys with their truly dumb "color science" and "ergonomics" comments. Both are total nonsense. I have multipole Canon and Sony FF bodies, so I'm not a hater or fanboy on either side. Just can't stand the "color science" BS...
