Some tips about these: First throw away the cover. Second find an app to alert you if the drive temp climbs. Third do not use it with enterprise drives. Fourth did I mention these do a great job of overheating drives?
Depends on the security on the drive also.
As long as they are sata drives, you should be fine. If they are ide drives, you'll need a different enclosure. If you're copying to a desktop, you could also just connect them internally with a sata cable.

Just checking, if I have a few old PCs with old hard drives that I want to copy data from, I could use this, pull them out of my old computer and copy them to my new one? TIA

Thanks Sakaria and Billkater

Yes, as long as they're not IDE drives which are very old.

What's the difference between this and the tool free version and is it worth the extra 5 dollars?

Am I missing something? Where does it stated to including the Acronis True Image software? What is the max hard drive size?

Found it myself.

FYI - a hard drive has to be plugged into the dock, if not then Acronis won't recognize that you have a Sabrent device hooked up. (I know; generally you'd have a HD hooked up to it but I bought the basic HD SABRENT SATA to USB Cable & hooked that up so that I could use Acronis to clone ah I don't remember what I was doing) anyhow.. I though my old Sata adapter didn't have Acronis but then I finally hooked up a HD to it & when I started Acronis it then accepted it.

Would it be worth it to add an extra $35 and get the one with USB-c 3.2 and nvme port? I have a bunch of old drives in looking to transfer into one drive

If you already have a separate enclosure/dock for an nvme it might be faster to get this and transfer between the two. I would think the dual-dock requires information to be passed to the host and then back to the dock's other port but I don't know how Sabrent would implement this transfer? Also the dual-dock has an offline clone function but looks like you're not trying to clone, but to move and combine files onto one drive.

They should add nvme port.

Does anyone have a suggestion for good combo enclosures to optimize transfer speed from a TB4 port?

Looking for a 3.5" + 2.5" , and a 3.5"+ nvme to handle quick access files and bulk cost effective storage.

Your last statement is correct... not trying to clone. And you also bring up a good point, i never thought about maybe the files need to transfer to host and then back to the nvme. But I would hope that wouldn't be the case with a dual dock enclosure.
