First off, not everyone can be a navy federal member. You have to serve in the military, be a dod contractor, or be related to a navy federal member. This card also has a $49 annual fee.

This isn't a new deal as far as I can tell but I've been shopping around for a "generic" cash back card for general purchases. All the deal sites that list the top cards didn't note this one, I'm guessing due to the fact that navy fed isn't open to everyone.

However it seems pretty competitive. 3% back on travel. 2% back on everything else. It also covers one year Amazon prime, cost of Global Entry (which also works for TSA pre), and $350 worth of points if you spend $3500 in 90d, plus visa signature benefits.

I know other cards have higher returns for specific type purchases, and one has 3% back for the first year, then 2%, and the wells fargo card is 2% with no annual fee, but if you want/use prime and/or global entry, seems like a good deal. It's potential stacked is $350 if you spend $3500 in 90d, $100 global entry, $150 Amazon prime = $600 in benefits that theoretically can be used in the first 90d.

Fine print here https://www.navyfederal.org/conte.../823cc.pdf

If anyone knows of a better "all purpose" card please chime in.

How is this post not fitting for SD? This seems exactly like the kind of info this site was made for hosting.
Since I'm posting a lot now, the last thing I'll say about this card, it that its likely to change in the next year to be better with a higher annual fee of $95 based on a survey NavyFed put out at the start of the year to ask if we would like the potential changes.

The current version gives Amazon Prime free one time in the cards life. The survey asked if we would pay more to have it every year plus the following tweaks.

4x points for travel (currently 3X).
3x for restaurants (new)
2x on everything else
Global\TSA stays.
Fair. I've seen cc deals posted here before and thought members might appreciate. If not, I won't be offended if it dies on the vine 😂

Overall though, this is a card good enough for vets who don't want to dive into having too many cards, luxury cards with high fees, or points churning for sign up bonuses.

Wow this is a good underdog card, $49 fee first year cannot be waived though

I'm looking for something better than the 1.5% cash back incentive on "anything else" that I currently have the chase cc with no annual fee plus 5% cash back on travel. Too bad this won't fit my need for mere .5% more at the expense of $50 Per year

No harm. It won't die. I'm sure some vets will have their interest peaked.

I was thinking about how other post are more so about the big sign up bonuses and your last sentence about chiming in on all-purpose cards put Reddit in my mind. I'm sure Slickdeals will appreciate the clicks staying here.

Check out the Wells Fargo one. No fees. 2% back. $200 incentive. Visa signature. I also saw a capital one card that was 3%, but for 12 or 15mo, then 2%. Since I have Amazon prime and will hit the $350 reward, this one made sense for me. Your right though, benefits aside your points on the first $2450 charged each year is a wash with the fee.

Appreciate the feedback and appreciate everyone using "kid-gloves" with this post. 😁 I've been looking for a good bit and seems like you'd need a half-dozen plus cards to target all the big categories for 2+% cash back, so figured I'd keep my 2 targeted ones (gas/groceries & travel), and keep this is my "catch-all" card.

I also hadn't brushed up on the general visa signature benefits in a while but some decent items there too like double warranty up to a year and cell phone insurance when phone bill is paid with card (I have NOT read all the fine print yet, so take this fwiw.)

True but to be fair YMMV. From my experience for example Chase Travel typically get the best deal for me. I don't go with them if they somehow don't. Walmart Travel is another good one too IMO.

I have Walmart+ and didn't know about this benefit. Thanks!
