First off, not everyone can be a navy federal member. You have to serve in the military, be a dod contractor, or be related to a navy federal member. This card also has a $49 annual fee.

This isn't a new deal as far as I can tell but I've been shopping around for a "generic" cash back card for general purchases. All the deal sites that list the top cards didn't note this one, I'm guessing due to the fact that navy fed isn't open to everyone.

However it seems pretty competitive. 3% back on travel. 2% back on everything else. It also covers one year Amazon prime, cost of Global Entry (which also works for TSA pre), and $350 worth of points if you spend $3500 in 90d, plus visa signature benefits.

I know other cards have higher returns for specific type purchases, and one has 3% back for the first year, then 2%, and the wells fargo card is 2% with no annual fee, but if you want/use prime and/or global entry, seems like a good deal. It's potential stacked is $350 if you spend $3500 in 90d, $100 global entry, $150 Amazon prime = $600 in benefits that theoretically can be used in the first 90d.

If anyone knows of a better "all purpose" card please chime in.

How is this post not fitting for SD? This seems exactly like the kind of info this site was made for hosting.
Since I'm posting a lot now, the last thing I'll say about this card, it that its likely to change in the next year to be better with a higher annual fee of $95 based on a survey NavyFed put out at the start of the year to ask if we would like the potential changes.

The current version gives Amazon Prime free one time in the cards life. The survey asked if we would pay more to have it every year plus the following tweaks.

4x points for travel (currently 3X).
3x for restaurants (new)
2x on everything else
Global\TSA stays.
Fair. I've seen cc deals posted here before and thought members might appreciate. If not, I won't be offended if it dies on the vine 😂

I'm looking for something better than the 1.5% cash back incentive on "anything else" that I currently have the chase cc with no annual fee plus 5% cash back on travel. Too bad this won't fit my need for mere .5% more at the expense of $50 Per year
Like most banks and CUs, NFCU offers an array of credit cards with varying signup bonuses, points, and additional benefits. I'm a member and get offers almost weekly. For example, in the last week I received two card offers from NFCU :

1) VISA signature cashback card with $350 bonus (have to spend $3.500 in first 90 days), 1.5% cashback, no annual fee, no foreign transaction fees, and $98 statement credit for Walmart+ membership costing at least $49

2) AMEX points card with 40,000 point bonus (have to spend $4k in first 90 days) 3x points, no annual fee, no foreign transaction charges and $98 statement credit for new Walmart+ membership costing at least $49.

May not be a good fit for everyone... but alternate options to the annual fee-based card.

This card seems weak for a $49 AF

penfed has 2% CB no AF. Pathfinder rewards has better SUB and AF waived with basic requirements

I have an auto loan with navy fed and like their app and service but their CCs are weaker than my current cards.

I think the prime + $350 is what sweetens the deal a bit. Navy fed, like most card companies, will allow you to do a product change without a hard credit inquiry. So you can always flip to one of there no annual fee cards after getting these deals.

*Edit* I should have noted, if you product change from another navy fed card to this one you will not get the $350 bonus. But you will be eligible for prime and global entry.

$49 CC fee gets you Amazon Prime ($130) and TSA Precheck ($100). I used both so I saved $180. Amazon Prime is yearly as well. No brainer.
