Lyca Is the worst! Porting out took me more than a month!!! (Note: I switch carriers every 3 to 6 months … usually takes less than an hour). And they overcharged me. AVOID LYCA AT ANY PRICE!

I also had a good experience with them recently. Getting the account activated was seamless. Porting out wasn't too bad... I had to call customer service, but they gave me the account number and PIN without any delay or hassle at all.

Had a more than decent experience with lyca for the last 6 months. Old problem with activation has been resolved, as I understand. My 4th line didn't require a special call in.

Looks like the price will go to $90 for six months or $120 for 12 months after the deal. I think taxes are then added to this price. I've been having some problems lately with Mint at $180 +tax a year and I would consider this. Looking for more positive feedback before I make that move though as I don't know much about this Lyca Mobile. These use TMobile? I do like the unlimited international calls something Mint does not have.

Us mobile is very solid.. ported a number last month with trial service, port in completed in a minute.. like their mobile account dashboard.. great experience by far

Apps like PayPal require an SMS-based number. But if you don't need verification like that absolutely a lot of people can get away with Wi-Fi based messaging apps and Google voice and the like
