man I've always wanted an Alienware laptop, but I just picked up the deal for the Legion at Costco for a the same price including an extended warranty. I can't believe this is heavier!

Any thoughts if I should return the Legion [costco.com] and grab this?

The 4080 jump from the 4070 is pretty significant this gen. If main priority is gaming, I would go with this Alienware.

I own both Alienware and Legion Pro. Personally prefer the Legion more due to software support. Dell's software is a glitchy mess. Lenovo's just seems to work better. Also, Alienware motherboards are inverted, which means you'll have to disassemble the laptop entirely if you need to repaste the CPU in the future. I'm dreading that day.

Hmm while I will be gaming, I'm also gonna be mostly using it for design programs like Adobe. I might stick with the Lenovo even if the card is higher level on the Alienware. Thank you!

Also it's a small thing but I missed having the 10key on my last laptop and I love that the Legion has it!

I just pulled the trigger on this. It will be easier to justify the purchase to the wife since my birthday is in a couple of weeks. And it's a landmark birthday, too (ends in a zero)!

I signed up for a new account but didn't receive the 10% off right away. I chatted online with Dell. They wanted me to jump through some hoops, and I told them to forget it. Within 2 minutes of ending chat I received the coupon code in my inbox. No idea if it was a coincidence or not.

Oh, and I somehow had $10 in "Dell Allowance" to apply to the purchase after tax.

Ordered on Monday and it's finished assembly today. Supposedly going to ship today but that is yet to be seen. Originally the ship date was going to be 19th and arrive on the 22nd. Here's hoping it's faster than originally anticipated!

No, it won't be outdated "very soon". A laptop 4090 is ~11% better on average (probably 15% at 4k) than a 4080 laptop. And this particular comparison, the 4090 link you gave costs at least 65% more.

So is it worth it to spend 65% more to get up to 15% better performance? Only you can answer that for yourself.

For those interest, it's just a $100 more for 64GB Ram, for those looking for a rendering/video editing machine too.
