The poker roguelike. Balatro is a hypnotically satisfying deckbuilder where you play illegal poker hands, discover game-changing jokers, and trigger adrenaline-pumping, outrageous combos.
This game was made by a solo developer; it would be great if people bought it from a legitimate store (not a grey market keyshop) so that they get their share of the sale.
I regularly have Balatro dreams now and the music is stuck in my head.
My wife complained that I spend all my nights playing "that card game":
She thought it was online poker and that I had an addiction.
She's wrong about the first part.
Stolen credit cards where the transaction is reversed after the key is already redeemed or purchased in regions where the game is cheaper and then resold in America seem to be the big ones.
Steam Keys purchased for other regions should be region locked
I bought the game for switch at full price and enjoyed it. That being said, if they choose to sell the game cheaper in other regions they deserve to have people buy the keys and resell them. I didnt tell them to have different prices and I think its insulting to have different prices. Why should poor people in usa pay more for games than rich people overseas? Even if americans do make more, how would you like to ask what a price is for a coffee and the cashier says that depends how much you make? F that
CDKEYS. A website so fraudulent that they've only been in business for at least 6 years (that's how long I've been doing business with them). Full disclosure before I get publicly shamed - my last purchase was 2021. I always use Cheapshark (they have a "lowest price ever" feature) to price match before making any purchase.. and CDKEYS is not listed on Cheapshark so yeah I guess that's sketch but whatever it's better than using a CC to buy a garden gnome from Temu
You only need to know the names of Poker Hands. The game will tell you how they're scored. This isn't really poker. This is something new with Poker hands as a scoring system. Also, don't buy from thieving grey market sites like CDKeys. Official stores have the game for not much more and the dev will actually receive money. Check GG Deals or another similar site for price history. This game is perfect for handheld, so would recommend a Switch copy if you have that.
Not defending gray markets, but if the dev wanted more money, why not sell on both Steam and Epic Games? Epic is known to give more to their devs than Steam.

Not sure I understand the line of argument. The dev can distribute the game however they choose. They chose not to use Epic for reasons unknown to us. I'm not sure a PC Gamer alive would claim they prefer Epic over Steam in terms of usability. Gray market resellers do shady shit like credit card fraud, out of region purchases, resell free promo keys in what amounts to literal theft from the dev.
Such an addictive game. It's easily to pickup and hard to put down. I completely agree with a lot of comments here, but it on Steam to support the dev.

If the dev isn't getting their fair due on keys sold that is an issue for them to take up with their publisher.
Pretty sure they are doing well: https://www.gamedevelop
