My solution is I get X-box game pass ultimate for one month, every 4-5 months. I usually buy from Eneba or sometimes CD Keys. Make sure to get "one month non-stackable" and you can purchase for 5-7 USD, typically. I've seen as low as $2.50 and occasionally $8. For this reason, just check every few days, since the price fluctuates. I'm got it March 28, and I'm currently playing (loving) Diablo 4.

Scroll further down the page, because the "promoted offer" price is, well, pricier. I see "ELSA" seller is $6.46 right now.
And I use PayPal. My bank freaked out when I made a CD Keys purchase when Battlefront 2 launched, because it's out of the country, so they blew up my phone with text and email about possible fraud. I've never had a hiccup using either Eneba or CD Keys. I've been using them, as well as Green Man Gaming, for over 10 years. I've read that if you get emailed a key, you should activate immediately rather than waiting weeks or months. If it doesn't activate, contact them to get a replacement key.
