No matter what I said they would not give me the $3/mo for 36 month deal. I have a 2018 car and they said there wasn't any way I could get the deal

I was on the $5 month plan with 10 months remaining.

I started a chat and entered "Get SiriusXM for $3 per month for 36 months".

When the bot came up with several options I just repeated "Get SiriusXM for $3 per month for 36 months"

A rep came on immediately, and after providing my radio ID said I could only get this offer if I closed my existing account and opened a new one.

I agreed and she completed all the steps after I provided her my credit card number via secure link.

This was the easiest transaction I have ever had with SXM. Thanks OP!
I was only able to get 3 for 12 months going this route, but its a helluva lot better than the 23 they were trying to stick me with. Thanks for this advice.

Question: Yes you can cancel anytime, however in the past the subscriber would have to make a mandatory phone call to cancel. Last time I attempted this, I was "accidentally" hung up on 3x in a row, and so instead of canceling 1 radio, I cancelled all 7 on my account. It took over 2 hours of my time.

Can I cancel online/anytime, without the assistance of a human? (signing up takes about 2 minutes)

Same here on a 2021 BMW. Radio has been off for about 6 months now.

Although they say it is for 2015 or older vehicles, I just got the deal on a 2023 F150 Lightning with no effort using the chat. 36 months, $120 total.

Did it through chat. Took a while, but a screenshot of the deal and her talking with "the team" got me the price of $3.63 ($2.99 plus fees) per month for 36 months per car. Oddly, unlike past deals, they didn't bill the whole thing up front, looks like I'm going to get charged monthly, which is okay.

I tried to cancel my subscription to take advantage of this offer but ironically their website works fine until you get to the cancellation part and then it comes up with a page saying they're having technical difficulties and to contact customer service.
I just hit up chat, told them I was unwilling to pay more than this offer and they gave it to me. Maybe try harder.

These are NOT mandatory, despite what the rep tells you. I've refused to pay them and others have been successful too. Just got to keep trying.

Might want to look at this. The government is after them.

The article says a "proposed class action" is after them. They will not stop the practice, just pay a "go away" settlement to the lawyers.

A lot of companies would deserve a government lawsuit (all those "recovery" fees), but XM raises the bar by calling a core expense of their industry a fee.

As a current subscriber, on the $5/12mo subscription, they would not offer me the $3/36mo. So i cancelled. Usually after X amount of months of losing you as a customer, they'll be sending you deal offers in the mail and via email to come back.
If they offer it again, i'll subscribe again. Until then, Amazon Music, which is free with my Prime anyways lol

Seems some people are getting the $3/mo for 36month deal with newer cars. Canceling subscription is really not ever a problem. But they won't give me the deal from my 2020 car. Very STRANGE! I wonder what is the formula for this to work?

Site saying sorry technical difficulties, must assume I'm trying to cancel instead of joining lol.

I like the service but their business practices make them a hard NO. Last time I had their service the only people who could cancel online were in California. Everyone else had to call (during generous business hours but not 24/7) and listen to some poor rep give three or four save pitches over a fifteen minute call. I won't even take their service for free anymore.
