Be careful when the time comes to close your account.
I had a Citi Priority Savings and Checking for a few years. My rates trickled down and were no longer competitive.
I called to close the account and waited for my cashiers check. I called back a week later, was told it's on its way. Another week - same story. Another week - same story. Yet all that time, online, the account was clearly showing as closed on the day I initially closed the account. I started calling every 2-3 days. My check came 37 days after closing. The kicker was that they blamed it on the mail being slow, but the check was printed 31 days after closing!
They took their sweet time from closing to printing the check - and during that time I earned zero interest. I protested numerous times, including a BBB case, and got denied that extra month of interest.
I would like to say all these banking companies must think everyone is stupid.
GOING TO DEPOSIT 30k OR MORE BLAH BLAH BLAH.
no interest on it.. why would I go drop 50k?
The only thing this is good for is to pocket $300 no pretending otherwise citi...
You'd be surprised how dumb people are with their money. Relative of mine just said they've left 20k in a nearly no interest checking account for the last 5 years. I could have even with minimal risk doubled that in that 5 years... Sadly it's not mine to play with... Oh well

Please tell me about this minimal risk way of doubling money faster than the stock indexes!

Doubled? Not that I don't believe you, just curious. I'd like to double $$. Currently only gaining 5% or so at no risk.
I tried this and they ran a hard inquiry on my account without my consent.. Still haven't heard from them yet.even though it's been more than 2 months. I have no issues with other banks like Chase and BOA. I wouldn't recommend this bank at all. I would advise against using it based on my experience.

As a veteran bank churner, I can tell you Citi is one of the worst to deal with. They play games where you need to come into a branch after you've met the criteria and sit with someone just to call customer service and honor the promo.
I'd avoid Citi and USBank like the plague. My minimum to justify my time is also $400. So, I did give USBanks recent $400 a shot because little no principal is required to maintain it, so not losing out on interest at another bank. If they end up screwing me, I won't bat an eye.

No state and local in the US has such a high tax rate. Total trolling.

They don't care. Next earnings they can talk about all the new accounts they opened, and even better they haven't paid out the bonuses yet.
