I got one of these with the IPS 4k display. Fantastic display. Plenty fast. Mediocre battery life. Annoying touchpad. Terrible parts availability after I dropped it. I think I'm done spending on premium laptops. Also $1500 here.

I agree…just bought a refurbished Dell latitude. This is the third one and NEVER had any issues and the price point can't be beat.

My last BB open box excellent turned out to be a (likely) floor model, scratched-up laptop with nothing else in the plain cardboard box, not even a charger.
Luckily, I made a stink about it being a bait and switch and ended up with a brand new laptop. This was the Lenovo Gaming 3 deal a while back. I got lucky
The takeaway: make sure to open the box there and inspect the contents.

Agreed with best buy regularly using bait and switch to lie about open box condition. I've experienced this multiple times. Unfortunately for me, when I've brought it to their attention, their response has always been to either return for refund or accept it as is.

They originally made me wait 20 min and then offered to provide me with a charger. I'm usually pretty mild-mannered, but was pissed I drove an hour to get my "excellent" laptop, so I made a stink. The manager changed her response from, "go pound sand" to, "how about you pay more for a new laptop" to, "fine, just take the new laptop for the agreed upon price."
I was blown away at my luck. Note: I wasn't making THAT much of a stink, but I did use the phrase, "bait and switch" several times with a dozen or so customers around waiting in the Geek Squad area.
Was picked a 12gen I7 model up with 16gb ram + 512GB SSD and OLED screen last month for around $400 from bestbuy too(laptop only, no charger or anything else).
The power button and fingerprint reader does not work. So I contact Dell to repair it. The whole process takes 4-5 hours of troubleshooting which is painful. But everything proceed smoothly after that. Takes 1 business day to receive their shipping box, 2 days for shipping the laptop to repair center, 1 day for repair and ship it back to me at the same day. Dell provided two-way prepaid overnight shipping label which is fantastic when comparing to ASUS RMA. But not sure if I'm still getting a good deal after all.
Not sure if this is a good deal. Asus Zenbooks with similar specs can be had for $700 brand new. You are paying $300 more to get additional 16gb RAM, and having to play the open box lottery. Not a good deal IMHO

Yep at this point you are better off getting the $700 Asus brand new with the new Intel ultra processor and get almost double battery life and way better graphics.

Click on the part that says "open box" in small print. Prices from $867-$984 can be found in the pop-up when you click on "open box"
