I was ready to buy. Samsung showed the $262 on the sales page but $349.00 in the cart. Is this the world's worst bait&switch? Wish I could post pictures here to shame Samsung. I always thought they were above this type of behavior. Now I can't buy it based solely on principle.

If you log in, chances are very slim that the promo has been applied to your account. If you checkout as guest, you have a higher chance of getting the deal

I was able to trade in an S6 lite and get the price down to $166 ($205 after tax) but I had to use guest checkout and was not able to use the initial promo page. I chose tablet from the main menu and proceeded to the S9 FE page from there. Only from there was I able to add in a trade, the promo page does not allow the stacking of a trade (unless your account qualifies - which requires login - ymmv)

If you got $250 credit for S6 lite, based on this deal I think you should have paid $13 ($263-$250trade-in) instead?

you can either get this deal or do a trade in, it is extreme ymmv to stack the offers. To get this deal and do a trade in, your account would have to qualify for the pricing OP posted but most people do not qualify, which is why using guest checkout is being recommended. To get the pricing that was listed in this deal, no trade in is allowed. However, under the tablet section of the site, the pricing is reduced (not as much as this deal) and you can do a trade in to lower the price. After trade in (before tax) my total was $166 for 256gb S9 FE.
I consider that to be a deal as my S6 lite has been lagging lately and I was just going to use the LincPlus T3 that I picked up for under $100. This way I can compare the two of them side by side
