There's literally a $349 iPad for those people, who want to browse the internet and watch videos, they do not need to spend anywhere close to $2599. The iPad Pro is meant for a specific set of people, who do indeed get use out of it, and typically use it for their job, where they will offset that $2599 with profit in no time.
If someone who has no reason to own a fully spec'd iPad Pro buys one, that's on them, they aren't required to, and it's not like Apple doesn't give many other options available, to make the entry point to an iPad pretty possible for everyone.
Between the iPad mini, iPad, iPad Air and iPad Pro, there's literally a device suitable for everyone and their different needs. I would liken it to deciding which house to buy. If you have a family of four, and don't plan to have any more kids, you probably want to buy a 3-4 bedroom house. What sense would it make to buy a 12 bedroom house? Same with the iPad...if you are only planning to browse the web and watch videos, you should get an iPad Mini or iPad...what sense does it make to get a fully spec'd iPad Pro?

iPad Pros are good for designers. They would be much better with OSX on them, rather than a mobile OS.
