I love my kids but man I miss gaming. I don't have enough PTO to go on the 3 week trip across America my wife is taking the kids on and I am going to use that time to take my newly fixed PS3 and play some old games that I bought 15 years ago.
That's how far my backlog is.

why are all the non frontage deals getting downvoted. I feel like every deal I see has like -2 deal score for absolutely no reason
I'm super confused by this one too. It's a way to play an old game again. Without some mods and tweaks to the ini file I can't get fallout 3 to play, even when I do it crashes from time to time. If this version is stable I would be happy with it... but if it's just good for the month then I don't think that's enough time to get through it unless you are putting well over 10 hours a week into it.

I think its an issue with SlickDeals as a whole, for example before I upvoted this post it was at around -3 deal score, but people in comments liked the deal for the most part.

Maybe people aren't taking the time to upvote the deals. Normally free stuff is upvoted, even if it is behind a sub.

Never heard of Luna before today. Interesting idea. I just tried it and it was somewhat laggy. 6/10
Performance will depend on your Internet connection. If you are close to a server and have a low latency connection, it'll be solid. If you have high latency, you'll notice lag and/or macroblocking in the visuals. A wired connection will perform better than wireless. If you already have Prime it doesn't cost anything to try to see how it works.

This is good through Oct 10 (so six months) as noted in the title. You don't have to worry about mods or tweaks, because the game is running in the cloud. Luna is like GeForce Now or xCloud in that regard.

Ah, I didn't see the deadline, that's enough time to finish both. Nice. I'm curious how it's running on the cloud, if it is just using an xbox version or they have some machines that are running Windows 7 or older? A lot of the issue was Fallout got confused on 64 bit processors and crashed. You had to change an INI file to even get it to run but still got crashes.

Not had a problem with the GOG version. Current philosophy seems the best way for F3 in 2024
-at least from forums is to run it as Tales of Two Wastelands with FNV merged. Even with limited mods the ToTW version holds up, even with some stutter. You can plead all of F3 and not touch the Mojave. There's a mod on Nexus that allows you to be counter intuitive and start FNV first, or only. Works on any store front-stem, epic, GOG: heard you can even mix and match.
Could any Luna users please confirm their version of Fallout 3 is, in fact, playable as-is?
For most people, Fallout 3 does not work on Windows PCs and has not for many, many years, ever since quad-core and multithreading became the norm. There are several mods out there that make it playable, but the ones I have used (most notably Tale of Two Wastelands, which plays Fallout 3 on the Fallout: New Vegas engine) are designed to work with Steam or without launchers at all.
F:NV for free is still pretty tempting, and you can always buy it on Steam later when it goes back down to $5 (frequent occurrence) if you want to experience it with mods.

I was just kidding , I completely understand I don't have as much time to game as I would like either!
Cool, but if you play on Luna, you can't play Tale of Two Wastelands or any of the other hundreds of mods (community made add-ons) for these games. (The best place to download them from is NexusMods.)
For whatever it's worth, over the last year, Fallout 3 and Fallout: NV have been given away for free by Epic Games. Also Amazon Prime Gaming gave away Fallout: NV (for GoG) in November 2022.

I am curious can people do an entire playthrough while it is in the luna rotation. for Fallout, easily can clock 100+ hrs for the game, so i figure the answer is you can't do an entire playthrough while it's free on luna so curious on the point of it
